Thumbs up to you, Zangief Kid /o/

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 21, 2011, 12:29 AM
Man!! I wasn't so thrilled about a video for quite a long time.
Just now I've watched the interview given by Casey Heynes (Zangief Kid), and to be honest, made my eyes fill with tears...

Just in case you don't know a thing about it, check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0z2zs…

I believe everyone can connect with this case. Who hasn't been teased and bullied at least once?
I can really connect with that.....firstly because I was (and still am) chubby huahauahuahauahua  8D And secondly because I used to be the only asian in my class, which made me look like an alien for a long time.
After changing school and seeing myself in a total different enviroment, with no friends, it was easy to become a target and not bond as well. :/
Being a teenager really sucked because there is always this almost 'obligation' to be in a group and be accepted by it, otherwise you are a freak....
Of course that having friends and developing social skills is important at school, but there is a huge misconception that different people should be treated as lower people = have to be bullied. And this kind of thing can really torment kids for the rest of their lives.

Now, as an adult, I see how stupid this all is and laugh about how these bullies were just a bunch of idiots that were even more insecure than I was, trying to look better than me by making me feel bad. That's the truth behind a bully.
but sadly as a teen is hard to see beyond school misery.
And Casey' final message says it all: "School doesn't last forever. Hang in there"  :)

after reading a bit about Casey's story. I've decided he's a hero to victims of bullying everywhere.

That was a powerful video. It's not often we get to clearly see someone get a karmic beating like that.

I can respect that, I stood up to a bully in year 9 and when I fought back he never bothered me again.
Though things could have gone completely different if the guy didnt have enough confidence to fight back, he could have gone the extreme opposite and broken down and that would taken a huge effect on him. Good thing that didnt happen otherwise we wouldnt have his message, I suppose kids or anyone really who feel like they're being mistreated could look at that and get some confidence out of it.
Bullying will always be around in one form or another but so long as people perservere over it they'll make it through

Maybe bullies will learn a lesson that sometimes, you're just gonna get hurt...bad. That bully was lucky the kid didn't drop him on his head too. He definitely had enough wits to not leave that kid with a concussion.

A unica coisa q eu posso pensar é q eu poderia ter me defendido bem melhor naquela epoca :/

Mas...aguas passadas. O melhor q eu faço agora é dizer pra galerinha de hj ter a autoestima pra saber se impor e não ser vitima de bully.

It sucks how Casey was suspended for defending himself. There's absolute proof that the Rat Kid had started the whole thing. Casey gave the Rat kid MANY chances to leave him alone and the result was a gordbuster on the concrete. Rat kid was blessed Casey didn't do any major major damage.

BTW, I should be getting a new computer within the next few weeks! I'd LOVE to play with/against you in Team Fortress 2! :D

Yeah~~ But I can understand (although I don't aprove it eiher) why the school chose to suspend both of them.
Since it's an institution, it can't allow any of breach to be sued. Because it would give space for the bully kid's parents to say like "hey! so you aprove violence? he also hit my son, where is his punishment?" = lawsuit

Heh, send me a note with your Login from steam when you get it :)

I totally love this kid and agree with what he did, if anyone were to ever pick on one of my kids ( when I have them ) and one of my kids hit back, I wouldn't have an issue.

My little brother is quite chubby and got teased SOO much for it, kids are cruel a lot of the time

I do respect him too. But firstly because initially he did wanted to avoid confrontation. That's the right thing to do.
But constant abuses and no much results, stepping up and holding his ground was definitely the ultimate awesome move :D

I LOVED the last message....and I'm disgusted to see this type of thing happening in schools here in Australia...I really am. I know and knew it happened since I saw a lot of it at school myself; just less kids have phones that recorded video.

But yes from the video and the interview that he had with A Currect Affair [link]

Actually this happens anywhere around the world. And it's sad that nowadays it seems that kids are being even more cruel @_@ Being strapped by a pole?? jezzz.....There is no need for any kind of humiliation like that.

Pretty much, which is why so many people are following it because they have gone through something similar....The lil ranga kid is now saying that Casey provoced him by telling him to go to class and called him an idiot and stuff and he didn't like it....The "other stuff" sounds like a load of BS.

There was a video, I can't remember if it was a school over in the Eastern States of Australia but some kids threw one of their peers in a big green garbage bin (wheely bin) and ever time he tried to climb out they'd push him back in =\

Yeah~~ I saw that kid's pronounce.

But even if he was bullied, it didn't give him the right to a confront Casey with a group of friends to try to intimidate AND still tease him.

Well, apparently this kid really don't have enough attention and education from the parents =_=....

Pretty much; it's almost become a massive joke now =\...Seems very he said, s/he said (he said, he said just doesn't sound right LOL.) Where as the video that was upload is proof of said act.

That really doesn't surprise me one little bit. A lot of parents aren't involved enough with their kids school lives.
