Man!! I wasn't so thrilled about a video for quite a long time.
Just now I've watched the interview given by Casey Heynes (Zangief Kid), and to be honest, made my eyes fill with tears...
Just in case you don't know a thing about it, check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0z2zs…
I believe everyone can connect with this case. Who hasn't been teased and bullied at least once?
I can really connect with that.....firstly because I was (and still am) chubby huahauahuahauahua 8D And secondly because I used to be the only asian in my class, which made me look like an alien for a long time.
After changing school and seeing myself in a total different enviroment, with no friends, it was easy to become a target and not bond as well. :/
Being a teenager really sucked because there is always this almost 'obligation' to be in a group and be accepted by it, otherwise you are a freak....
Of course that having friends and developing social skills is important at school, but there is a huge misconception that different people should be treated as lower people = have to be bullied. And this kind of thing can really torment kids for the rest of their lives.
Now, as an adult, I see how stupid this all is and laugh about how these bullies were just a bunch of idiots that were even more insecure than I was, trying to look better than me by making me feel bad. That's the truth behind a bully.
but sadly as a teen is hard to see beyond school misery.
And Casey' final message says it all: "School doesn't last forever. Hang in there"
