Honestly, I was just getting sick of my style. I feel like I haven't really improved upon it a whole lot for a long time, and quite frankly I'm getting bored with it. So I tried out this "messy" sort of style that's a lot more rugged and not very neat. Drawing this I think I realized how much I obsessed over making every line perfect or "clean". But when the intention is to be messy and imperfect, I think it allows me to relax a bit more and stop worrying about getting it just right. I'll try drawing more stuff like this and see how it goes.
