Kebs featured: Rome / Omen / Lethe / Synth / Mirror / Valkyrie Beneath the baking sun that leered over the desert, the distant calls of wild desert lazards were suddenly drowned out by a cacophony of roars from the dense crowds of kebs that had packed into the arena. Two kebs clashed in the pit of the coliseum, evenly tied for most of the fight but now the older opponent was flagging and starting to struggle and with one wrong step the crowd cheered as the winner was quickly declared for this round. “A close match, it’s going to be hard to beat!” Valkyrie called out, flying over the arena and announcing the next matchup through a magically-enhanced mic she carried with her, “Five minutes until the next round, put your paws together for our resident champions!” As the kebs in the crowd cheered, one set of eyes scanned the arena anxiously, looking to the entry gates through which the challengers appeared and wringing the hat he held in his hands. I've combined two of the prompts for this month to make a continuous story but I had a lot of fun with these! Definitely looking forward to more lore events in the future :'D Wild Magic There’d been nothing out of the ordinary that day; at least, not at first. Pigeon had arrived shortly after dawn at the Mystic Forest’s central hub, spending a little time there getting some breakfast and making his notes for the day. Several hours later and he’d set up a small camp for himself in a mossy clearing in the deep forest, his research and tea-making kit set up with a slowly simmering glass pot above the burner and clippings of various plants about him as he knelt in the small patches of sunlight. He hummed along, plucking leaves from the twigs and dropping them into the boiling water while his birds cooed softly in the background. That was the first thing that changed. He’d already wiped the marble surface a good few times in the last hour and he was certain that it couldn’t get any cleaner but the shift had been slow today and he was at a loss for things to do. The view out of the cafe windows was as beautiful as always, it lacked the bright sunshine and visible, hazy heatwaves rising from the hot pavement that had been the norm only a few weeks ago but Koo loved the ocean no matter the weather and, while the waves that could be seen beyond the rooftops across the street were choppy and the sky was more overcast than blue, Koo thought that the scenery was beautiful. Omen nervously shifted from foot to foot as he brushed the tangles out of a feeding mare's mane. It was an overall quiet day on the ranch, the summer heat of the desert beating down on the other with little hope for respite to be found amongst the shadier areas. One would normally find no particular reasons to be stressed out under typical circumstances. However, since his strange encounter with Rome the other day, Omen had been on edge in particularly every way. He meticulously smoothed out the mare's mane, picking out tiny dried leaves and twigs to pinch and worry between his thumb and forefinger, all while perpetually nibbling at the inside of his cheek. "Sup bro?" Vana popped her head up from the next stall over, causing the groomed mare to snort and take a step towards Omen, bumping her large flank into his chest.
