Not too much to say about this one. The pic is four years old and the cool thing is that it holds up. I still really enjoy this piece.

Creating decent city scenes in Vue is difficult. Lots of outside modelling required, though I'm sure the "base" layer of this city can be created with clever use of procedural terrains (assuming you didn't already) I haven't touched Vue in a while but it seems like it's on its way out? Apparently they got hacked or something a while back. It's a legendary software (despite being about as stable as drunk on a unicycle) so I'd hate to see it snuffed out of the CG industry (especially after all the time and money artists like us invested in it to create cool shit like this :shakefist:)

They had some infrastructure problems, yes. I wouldn't say they're on their way out though. They're fixing things (have already done so) and continue to use the opportunity to revamp their overall presentation and accessablilty. They are pushing their promotion quite a bit lately and they do work on stuff that will push them more to the front again. It's still a smaller company so things take their time - which can be a bummer. I still heavily rely on Vue and it's doing a more than fine job for what I need. =)

That's good to hear. Been drifting out of the loop lately, mainly due to being forced to prioritize other things more but I always hope that whenever (or if ever) I fall back into the pattern of regular digital art making again that Vue will still be there waiting for me (as it is my version is already years out of date, I tend to skip a few generations and now I feel I might as well wait until I'm using it more before dropping another sack of money on an upgrade :XD:)
