So here I am about to suffer another West Coast winter.... snow and ice, frosts and a good few months of wet weather before the clear cold snap comes along towards the end of the year. As anyone who has been paying a shred of attention to international news over the last month or so will be well aware that Japan has been buying off small island nations with large bags of cash to get them to vote in favour of lifting a ban on international whaling. The reasoning they are trying to feed us is that minkie whales eat too much fish and are depleting world fish stocks - and there are too many of them anyway so they need to be "controlled" by commercial fishing. Obviously we all know this is a load of horse shit so smelly that even the uneducated natives of simple island nations should be able to smell the festering Japanese lie
