Land Dragon by Tiamatus Land Dragon by Tiamatus
So I had to make a really hard decision with this guy, as the initial idea of wings isn't going to happen. I just don't trust the armature in this guy to support the weight of wings, so I went with shoulder spikes. This bad boy is pretty awesome looking for a land wyrm! 90% done!!!

This is AMAZING!  I'm assuming this is a clay of some sort, yes?  At first I thought those were wood shavings.  LOL!  Either way, incredibly impressive!

To be fair, land wyrms can sometimes look even cooler than a similarly designed flying dragon (probably because they're at least marginally more "plausible", while still looking both fantastic and intimidating), and shoulder spikes are just cool in general ^_^.

Anyway, he looks AWESOME <3!

I would have to agree! I just love wings though! But, the spikes on this guy really make me question why I love wings so much!

Thank you so much for the support!

Oh, this guy isn't going to be cast. He's a personal project for me..so he's going to be baked, painted and thrown on my shelf of hoarded stuff!

He's really huge and impressing.
I loke the shoulder spikes - good save.

So, will you fire him - I mena do you have a large enough oven?

Hey Michael,
that is a beautiful piece of work there. If I may ask... what is the material you are using to sculpt with and the scale (lol , no pun intended) of the dragon ?
Cheers, Barry:pencil:
After checking out your gallery one question was answered. "Polymer clay". Great craftsmanship.

No probs. The material I'm using is super Sculpey. This guys stands 13" inches at the tallest spike and 18.5" at length. If he was standing and fully outstretched his dimensions would be 20"tall and 32" long. The tale will add an additional 38-42".
Thank you for your kind words!
