Come see me this November 4th at the Guyandotte Civil War Days!
I did very well not posting anything of this one until it was finished. I may make a finishing touch or two before November on the Jacket (which won’t close on miss mannequin), but I’m very pleased with the skirt, especially the detail on the hem. (Skirt entirely of my own design, no pattern, each stripe is a separate piece of fabric attached with a French seam).
I learned something new while making this jacket and browsing the instructions that I didn’t follow because it wanted to leave exposed, unfinished seams, and that was how to add internal sleeve supports to keep the shoulders puffy.
Hope to see you there!
Just something to think about. ! !!
Just know that you've got what it takes if you ever change your mind. Never doubt that. Even I, one who knows zilch about sewing, can very clearly see that. !!
I use to do some dressmaking and leatherwork myself and I always appreciate when I see a piece where somebody else has put real heart and soul into the work. It really is a beautiful dress. I would love to see it on you but I am the other side of the Atlantic.
I usually post pictures of me in my costumes, but that will come later I'm sure, the event I'll wear this to is in November, a long while off, so I'm ahead of the game this year, I refuse to wear the same dress twice.
