What Will our Cubs be Like?

Now I know I said in my latest Journal that I wasn't going to post anymore submissions for the foreseeable future because I need to get my personal matters sorted out but this one submission couldn't wait. So as August and summer 2022 draws to a close I will leave you all my fellow watchers with this adorable scene where Kion and Tiifu are very much in love and now dating. The two young lovers are enjoying the sun rising together talking of their future and what their future cubs will be like.  

So with that everyone I leave you with possibly my last submission of this year. I will see you all with more amazing stories in 2023. So long for now everyone!      

      

Kion was laying at the edge of Pride Rock he must have fallen asleep out here the night before. He turned to his left to see that Tiifu was also laying near Pride Rock’s edge. They must have fallen asleep under the stars the following night and Kion had just been so caught up in the gazing of the beautiful dark sky that Tiifu fell asleep against him. So as the sun raised on a new day in the Pride Lands Kion made the short trek to his beloved Tiifu’s side. Sitting beside her he rubbed a paw gently against his side trying to stir the beautiful lioness awake. She lets out a tired moan and covers her face with one of her cream coloured paws.

Kion: “Tiifu… It’s morning. Wake up, beautiful.”

Tiifu’s dark green eyes opened slowly at the sound of Kion’s soft and caring voice. She smiles when she sees the golden lion with his fiery red locks of mane blowing slightly in the breeze.

Tiifu: “Kion… Morning.”

Kion: “Good morning, my love.”

Tiifu and Kion began to groom each other lovingly as they purred full of fondness for the other and sat together. As they enjoyed the peaceful quiet and watched the sun start to rise over the African Savannah Kion turned to look at Tiifu as he placed his paw over her’s. She turns to face him smiling with fondness for her.

Tiifu: “I guess it’s time to wake the rest of the Lion Guard and preform your duty’s for today.”

Kion: “They can all sleep for another hour. This time is for you and I right now to talk.”

Tiifu: “And what is it we should talk about?”

Kion: “Well our future. Most importantly our future cubs.”

Tiifu let’s out a lighthearted chuckle.

Kion: “What?”

Tiifu: “Really Kion? You want to discuss our possible future cubs? We’re only just starting our lives in our teens.”

Kion: “I really do want to talk about our cubs and before you know it we’ll both be adults looking to make a family of our own.”

Tiifu: “Kion…”

Kion: “I really want to start a family with you, sweetest Tiifu. As many cubs as we can make. So please at least describe what one or two of them may look like.”

Tiifu still hadn’t told Kion of the infertility problems that happened amongst the females of her family line every skipped generation. Tiifu’s grandmother was lucky to only have her mother as her one and only but her mother was lucky enough to birth 10 cubs from 4 different relationships. So the chance of future families from Tiifu’s 9 siblings could be very possible. Tiifu looked into Kion’s eyes he looked so happy in the moment that she probably shouldn’t ruin it. She would tell Kion in time but now wasn’t the time to consult this news on him and ruin the beautiful moment.

Tiifu: “Well since you insist. I will talk about two different possibilities. I picture myself laying back in the den back there. As the sun shines in there you are standing in the entrance. Kiara has just informed you I have given birth and as I’m still recovering from the pain I have just endured two small bundles lay in the curve of my paws. We have a girl and a boy each. The boy is so identical to how you looked when you where so very young. I imagine his coat collar being a tint of my cream and a mix of your dad’s dark orange fur. He would have a bit of a darker red mane and finally to top it off he would have three identical spots on each side of his face like me.

Kion: “What about our son’s eyes? What color are they going to be?”

Tiifu: “Hmm… I was picturing a bright green.”

Kion: “Not like Scar’s eyes I hope…”

Tiifu: “Oh Kion… I’ve heard the stories from your dad and both of your grandmothers. I’ve seen Rafiki’s paintings of Scar and no way would they be that piercing shade of green and even if our son had eyes so identical to Scar’s I would look at our son in a way of love and not one of fear and neglect.”

Kion: “As would I Tiifu neither of any our cubs will feel rejected or one not will be favourited over the other all of our cubs will be loved equally. Now as for our daughter? What will she be like?”

Tiifu: “Well I picture her looking some where as my father looked when he was a cub. My dad was on the darker tawny brown side and I think she would also carry some distinct features of your mom’s fur color too. She would also have my spots but in the corners of her eyes two each. Speaking of her eyes she would definitely have your Grandmother Sarahi’s eyes down to her exact shade of Amber. That way when the wise old lion queen does pass on you will continue to look at your grandmother through our daughter.”

Kion: “Those are wonderful descriptions. I hope they do turn out as you describe my delicate lily.”

Tiifu: “So do I my love… So do I.”

Kion: “Well I suppose I should get the others up and ready for patrol. I’m sure Janja is going to be chasing those zebras again before to long.”

Tiifu: “Good luck Kion! Give those hyenas a thing or two to remember!”

Kion: “I will and I will see you at lunch! I love you, Tiifu!”

Tiifu: “I love you more Kion! Come back to me soon.”

As Kion headed for the Lion Guard Layer beneath Pride Rock Tiifu herself continued to sunbathe until Zuri and Kiara woke up then the three of them would continue hunting lessons with Queen Nala for that day.
