Uzani's Injuries: The Aftermath

Shujaa watched with sadness and horror as his gaze never left his father, Kion who was carrying his sister's limp body into the Lion Guard lair where Makini and Rafiki where waiting to treat her injuries. He could hear the painful groans and winces Uzani made as Kion looked over his shoulder toward his daughter.

Kion: We're just about there, Chapu. Your mother is waiting for us."

Uzani: "It hurts so much, Daddy. Especially my eye!"

Kion: "I know Uzani and the Lion Guard is already out looking for that leopard that attacked you. I'll be joining them myself pretty soon."

Uzani: "Ugh! Do you think it was one from Makucha's leap?" 

Kion: "You let me worry about that. Your only priority right now is healing and getting tones of rest."

Uzani: "Okay Daddy..."

Shujaa shut his eyes in guilt as he heard the horrific cries of his mother seeing her since she left for patrol early that very same morning. Shujaa knew he had to do something and sitting around doing nothing wasn't something wasn't best known for. So very quietly Shujaa snuck off and began to sniff out for the leopard's scent that had attacked his sister who had protected him as well as the troublesome sisters Mzuri and Nzuri who where the cause of this terrible accident.

Sometime later Uzani began to wake up to her mother's gentle licks. Tiifu began to stop as she looked at her daughter in surprise Uzani was starting to stand up but the pain was so excruciating that she had to sit back down in her nest by force. Tiifu stood as she saw the tears of pain in her daughter's eyes as Tiifu sat down next to Uzani.

Tiifu: "You really shouldn't be standing up Uzani. Makini told me you need to stay off your feet for 2 full moon cycles."

Uzani: "Are my scars going to be permeant, Mom? Has it affected my speed?!"

Tiifu: "Rafiki knows the scar over your eye is permeant and you lost a chunk of your ear as well but the other scars will defiantly heal and your fur will grow back in good time. But for now your Lion Guard training is on hold."

Uzani: "Great... And Fuli and I where supposed to have a race tomorrow."

Tiifu: "Well she can always come and visit you. You'll have loads to talk about. And even look at it this way. When was the last time you spent any one on one time with your old mom eh?"

Uzani: "I guess that's the best thing about it. You and I haven't been spending enough time together lately outside of dinner." 

Tiifu: "Well I'll be here whenever you need me."

Uzani: "Thanks Mom!"

Tiifu and Uzani began to purr and nuzzle each other just as Uzani fell back to sleep and Tiifu resumed her gentle washing.

Shujaa wasn't far now the scent of the leopard was very close as his neck fur began to bristle he saw a golden tail pocking out of the tall grass.

Shujaa: "Come on out! You're trespassing in the Pride Lands! Queen Kiara doesn't take kindly to poachers in her kingdom."

Leopard: "I'm afraid it's you whose trespassed on my territory, lion! If you haven't noticed you're on my turf now! Or make that Makucha's turf and he doesn't take kindly to other species of felines especially and he's defiantly not as compassionate as your Aunt Kiara is!"

Shujaa: "H-How do you know the queen is--?"

Leopard: "How I know she's your aunt? Your father has a bit of a bad reputation among our leap. So you and your family are pretty much looked down on this side of the savannah. Which by the way how is your sister doing?"

Shujaa: "I KNEW you where that was you! You're going to pay hurting my sister!"

Shujaa extracted out his claws ready to fight as the leopard was getting to claw this jerk to bits!

Leopard: "OH! A fight is what you want?! Well then... Get ready for a nasty scar or two."

Just as Shujaa and the leopard where about ready to spar with one another a familiar powerful roar sent the leopard flying. Shujaa look bewildered and confused then he turned around and there was his father standing with the rest of his Lion Guard and Kion wasn't at all pleased with his son. Shujaa ducked his head and lowered his ears as he slowly began to follow his dad and the rest of the guard back home to Pride Rock.
