The Voice of Shani

This one was an easy choice for me. If you’re not familiar with it, there’s an animated series on Netflix called Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, which aired for three seasons throughout 2020. I recently started watching it and have really been enjoying the show. One of the standout characters is a girl named Wolf, who struggles with major trust issues due to childhood trauma. Her voice actress, Sydney Mikayla, immediately struck me as a perfect fit for Shani. As the future queen of the Tree of Life, Shani doesn’t always take her royal duties seriously—something that drives Rani and Kion up the wall. I can totally hear Sydney’s voice capturing Shani’s frustrated tone during an argument with her mother, insisting that fun doesn’t always have to come second to responsibility.
