The Voice of Mzuri

I have to admit, this one was a lot of fun to cast. Between the two sisters, Mzuri is definitely the more snobbish, spoiled, and bossy one—very much like their mother, Zuri, was at that age. Mzuri constantly judges other cubs in Queen Kiara and King Kovu’s Pride based on their looks, and she can be a real bully when she wants to be. She doesn't just boss others around—she even orders her own sister, Nzuri, around regularly. Mzuri often daydreams about becoming queen alongside Mukasa, imagining the two of them ruling together. Her condescending attitude frequently puts her at odds with Chiku, especially when she disrespects the future leader of the Lion Guard. Mzuri isn’t exactly a kind lioness, and if she continues down this path, I could easily see her becoming a future villain. I chose Chantal Strand to voice her—best known for voicing the spoiled Diamond Tiara in My Little Pony—which feels like a perfect fit for Mzuri’s bratty, entitled personality.
