Scar Returns

Chiku and Kion where both proceeding with caution has they made their way through the Outlands with both the Lion Guard and Junior Lion Guard. It was way too quiet for their comfort levels and Chiku especially didn't like the feeling of the quiet. But as her Uncle Kion had said they where here for one thing and one thing only and that was to get a handful of volcanic ash so they could cure her grandfather, Simba from the poisoning he was suffering from the scorpion sting that had able to take him down during on the anniversary that Scar was taken down by Simba many seasons ago and her and her family where shocked beyond belief when Simba collapsed. When Rafiki had confirmed it was a scorpion and Kion had ordered Ono to find the assassin. Kion and the guard went after it as Chiku, her brothers, and cousins watched as their parents helped their grandfather into the den. When Kion had returned Rafiki had confirmed that Simba only had until sundown to get that ash for the medicine and if they didn't get back in time... Well Chiku didn't even want to think about it.  But she wanted to come and though Kovu had refused Chiku and Kibo to go saying it was "too dangerous" but Kiara trusted her brother and knew her son and daughter would be safe with him so with that said and assuring Kovu multiple times it was okay for them to go they left for the Outlands.

Now as Chiku walked a few feet a few feet in front of her uncle and her friends she sniffed and a burning smell filled her nose as she shrank back in disgust.

Chiku: "I think we're near the volcano! But it's so disgusting!"

Uzani gave a chuckle as she approached her cousin.

Uzani: "What you're smelling is sulfur, Chiku! Dad told me and Shujaa once that it smells like rotten eggs because it gives off a powerful smell to keep us away from it."

Fuli: "Believe me when I say this girls we wouldn't be here if we had to be but since your grandfather only has so much time we really should get moving."

Kion: "Fuli's right! We need to get moving before my dad takes a turn for the worst!"

Ono: "We'll make it back in time, Kion."

Ono put a reassuring wing over his friend's shoulder and with that both him and Mgomo flew out ahead to scan for threats.

Further on ahead Kiburi's Float of exiled crocodiles lie in wait for both Lion Guards.

Kiburi: "Here they come. Now, remember Scar's plan." He explained turning to the rest of his float just as Chiku and Kion's Lion Guards arrived.

Uzani: "I knew it was too quiet for our own good!"

Shujaa: "Ugh! Can't these crocs see we're in a rush!"

Kiburi: "Where do ya think you're goin', Lion Guard?"

Kion: "Get out of the way, Kiburi!"

Kiburi: "Out of the way?"

Chiku: "You heard my uncle! Move it crocodiles!"

Kiburi: "You're in my territory now, cub. And the crocodile way is to defend it."

Heshima: "Kiburi. We don't have time for this right now."

Fuli: "So let us through." 

Kiburi: "No one tells my float to move. Not without a fight. Now!"

The crocs begin to step forward hissing and jaws snapping Kion and the Lion Guard begins to back away slowly keeping the Junior Lion Guard at bay. Kion sends Beshte to deal with the crocodiles. The hippopotamuses tackles Tamka who came charging for the big hippo, but the force of the tackle slams him into the rest of his float. The Guard hurries through. The Guard get a little further but bump into Reirei's Pack.  

Reirei: "Well, well. Who do we have here?"

Goigoi: "Uh, it's the Lion Guard, honey."

Reirei: "I know that, Goigoi."

Kibo: "Grr...Jackals... Have I ever mentioned how much I HATE jackals!" 

Shujaa: "Yes Kibo we KNOW! We don't need to hear about it AGAIN!"

Kion: "Kibo and Shujaa stop this senseless bickering at once! You jackals should know to get out of our way as well. Because we're coming through weather you like it or not."

Kion turns to Bunga, who leaps onto some nearby rocks.

Bunga: "That's right! Honey badger style. Zuka Zama!"

Bunga ended up farting on the pack. The putrid sour stench keeping the pack from stopping them and both Lion Guards run past them.

Kibo: "Did I also happen to mention how much I hate Bunga's stink!"

This earns a laugh from Uzani and Fuli laughs alongside her apprentice.

Fuli: "I don't think any of us like that smell, Kibo. But I geta admit, I'm glad we're all on Bunga's side.

Mgomo: "Indeed Fuli, It's definitely better than being behind him."

Worn out, the Lion Guards finally reach the base of the volcano.

Beshte: "We made it at last."

Shujaa: "Now we just gotta go...up it."

Suddenly before any of them could ascend to get the ash, Janja's clan arrives on scene.

Janja: (SNICKERING) "But first you gotta deal with us."

The hyenas begin to creep up from every direction as Chiku herself was looking for an opening to do damage control.

Fuli and Uzani: (IN UNISON) "Seriously?"

Janja: "Get 'em, boys!"

The hyenas attack, and both Lion Guards defend themselves, with even Makini helping out (albeit accidentally).

Kion: "No time for a fight today! We just have to get past them!"

As Kion finishes yelling out his order Ono gasps as Shujaa looks on at his father horror in his lime green eyes.

Shujaa: "DAD!"

Ono: "I'll take care of this, Shujaa! You go and help your sister take out Cheezi!"

Ono flew towards Janja and the small but yet strong egret managed to lift him by the ear off Kion and tossed him a short distance away.

Ono: "Leave him alone!"

As Cheezi is chasing after Uzani he has her backed into a corner she was both terrified and in the defensive as she swiped her claws helplessly at the dumb hyena.

Cheezi: "Come here, little lady!"

Shujaa: "Not today, Cheezi!"

Shujaa swipped a paw across the hyena's face as he sent him flying. Uzani immediately ran to her brother and nuzzled him purring. This made Shujaa purr too knowing his sister was safe.

Kibo and Heshima where busy taking care of Chungu. As Heshima bashed the big oaf in the face Kibo did a back kick with his legs sending the hyena flying a great distance. Kibo and Heshima ended up giving each other a high-paw before going off in different directions.

Makini found herself trapped in a corner as two hyena's slowly began to approach. 

Makini: "No! Go away! Shoo!"

Beshte: "Twende Kiboko!"

Just in the nick of time Beshte was able to tackle the hyenas away from the young mandrill.

Makini: "Thanks, Beshte!"

Fuli: "Makini, stick out your staff!" 

Makini: "Okay! How come?"

Suddenly Chungu and Cheezi who now had their focus set on the cheetah tripped and went flying into Janga who was now fighting with Chiku. As Chiku got to her feet and brushed out her fur with her paw.

Makini: "Oh! That's why!"

Fuli: "Good one, Makini!"

Kion: "Now let's go get that ash!" 

On their way again both Lion Guards make their way up the volcano, where Kion observes the slowly setting sun. When they finally reach the highest point, Ono and Mgomo guide them to the volcanic ash and Makini swiftly pours a handful into her gourd, sealing it shut and re-attaching it to her staff.

Makini: "I've got it! I've got it! Well, actually, the gourd's got the ash. But I've got the gourd!"

Mgomo: "And we have just enough time to get back to Pride Rock before sundown."

Makini: "Ready! Let's go!"

Uzani: "Don't worry, Daddy. Grandpa Simba will be okay!"

Kion: "Thank you my little flower. You're grandfather will be okay now." 

As Shujaa walked over to joining in on the nuzzling session that was happening between his father and sister the earth began to gurgle and up from the flames that exploded appeared the face of a lion both Kion's and Chiku's generations had only heared in stories this face was known to be feared by all animal kind everywhere and here he was standing before them all now. Scar had returned and Chiku was shaken to her very core to be staring at such a legend of evil that she didn't know what to do next.

Scar: (LAUGHS EVILLY) "I'm afraid you're wrong about that, Kion." (LAUGHS EVILLY) Surprise. (WICKED LAUGH)

So that day Chiku wasn't imaging things... She really HAD seen Janja talking with Scar in that large grassfire! 

Chiku stepped forward as Kion tried to stop his niece from taking another step forward while he was busy protecting his own two cubs who huddled close to Fuli.

Chiku: "You! I saw you before. In the fire. You're Scar aren't you?!"

Scar: Yes, Chiku. You've guessed correctly, Princess. Bravo. (CHUCKLES EVILLY)  

Chiku: (GROWLS) "We'll deal with him later. We've gotta get back to my grandpa!"

Scar: "Stung by a scorpion, was he?"

Kion: "What?!"

Kibo: "How do you know that?"

Scar: "Who do you think sent that scorpion? All part of my plan to finish Simba in his old age once and for all." (LAUGHS EVILLY) 

Kion: "You made my father sick? But... Then you knew we'd come here looking for ash."

Fuli: "So the crocodile, jackal, and hyena attacks were planned."

Beshte: "They're all working together."

Ono: "For Scar!"

Everyone gasps at this new realization as they look up both in anger and fear at the great fiery lion spirit before them.

Scar: "Yes, yes. You are all so very smart, aren't you?"

Kion: "Looks like your trap failed, Scar."

Chiku: "We got the ash. And now we're taking it back to my grandpa!"

Scar: "Oh, no, no, no, Kion and Chiku. You still don't understand. I haven't even sprung my trap... Until now. Army of Scar! Attack!"
