Nzuri's Secret Crush

For as long as she could remember Nzuri has always held a certain fondness for Chiku’s younger brother, Kibo. At first she didn’t know exactly why she had become so attracted to the dark golden-orange lion but over time for the times that Chiku was absent from her guard Kibo being the Bravest Member would often take charge and organize the guard to their tasks while making a full report back to his sister at the end of the day. Today was one of those days Chiku had just caught a cold that Nzuri's sister, Mzuri now with both lioness cubs trying to recover in the royal den while tossing insults and blame back and forth between the pair of them Kibo went on about his business' handling his sister's duty's as co-leader while juggling on with his own duty's as well and as Nzuri was wondering around the corner she looks up as Kibo is giving his speech about where they were going to patrol that day. She would watch in awe as the bigger lion was so strategic and the way he let his fellow members speak their minds for suggestions she felt her heart start to flutter and a warm feeling she couldn't quite describe so as Shujaa, Uzani, Heshima, and Mgomo took their leave that's when Kibo turned around suprised to see Nzuri standing there.

Kibo: "OH! Uh... Hey Nzuri?"

Nzuri: "Hi Kibo..." She tries to hide her flushing pink cheeks as she shyly looks at her paws.

Kibo: "Is there something you need that I can help with?"

Her heart fluttering fast Nzuri began to think of a quick excuse of an answer to give to Kibo.

Nzuri: "Well... As you probably are aware my sister is sick and I know yours is too... So... Uh so..."

Kibo's surprised look began to soften into a warm smile.

Kibo: "I think I understand. You don't want to sit at Pride Rock by yourself all day listening to your sister and mine arguing about who gave each other their colds first. Trust me I wouldn't either that's why our patrols are going to be long and slow today and we could always use an extra pair of eyes on the team so you are more then welcome to tag along with us for today."

Nzuri: "Really?! I can join you guys?"

Nzuri's violet eyes lit up with more happiness then she had felt in awhile. 

Kibo: "Of course I don't know how any animal can stand listening to those two."

They both peeked into the den to see the girls still arguing back and forth.

Chiku: "IT WAS YOU WHO GOT ME SICK!!! THANKS TO YOU I CAN'T DO MY LION GUARD DUTYS!!"

Mzuri: "FOR THE 600th TIME CHIKU YOU ARE THE ONE WHO SNEEZED IN MY FACE AND NOW MY BEAUITFUL FUR IS A SODDEN MESS THANKS TO YOU!!"

Mzuri turned away her back facing the wall.

Chiku: "I'M NOT DONE SPEAKING WITH YOU YET!!!" (AHCHOO)

Nzuri: Yeah... I'm ready to get out of here."

Kibo: "I thought you might say that so let go and catch up to the others."

So with that the two teens take off setting out for adventure and fun while still getting the job of Lion Guard duties done and Nzuri was just really happy to be spending some quality time with the lion she was fond of.
