My Pride: A Complicated Love Triangle

So I just watched the newest episode of "My Pride" yesterday and I have to say WHAT A TWIST! I wasn't expecting that to happen. Here I thought Karabi was a cruel and vain lioness as she was portrayed in the legends, but in reality, she was kind and caring. Karabi did occasionally tease Kyoga, but it came from a good heart. She was rather bold in her opinions and is quick to act. Her kindness and willingness to not hurt Kyoga ended up being her downfall. Lite was portrayed as brave and heroic in the legends. Before the war, Lite was shown to be bright and hopeful, since he wanted to bring peace to his Kingdom and the Moon Kingdom. However, it's been revealed that Lite was also rather cold-hearted and cowardly. He refused to believe that Kyoga willingly ran away to the Storm Kingdom and began a war to 'free' her from Karabi, not knowing of their secret affair. Lite loved Kyoga, but Kyoga rejected him as her mate because she was in love with Karabi. When Kyoga confirmed that Karabi didn't kidnap her, Lite couldn't bring himself to accept that Kyoga didn't love him back. In a fit of rage and paranoia, he killed Karabi after she attempted to do the same with him. In response, Kyoga cursed Lite as punishment for his actions and vanished. Angry and bitter over the loss of Kyoga, Lite formed Pride Law and lied that Karabi was responsible for Kyoga's death and convinced the rest of the species that he was a hero. Lite's jealousy and failed relationship with Kyoga also caused Lite to outlaw homosexual relationships among lions. Now as for the reincarnation part we all know that Kyoga was reincarnated into Nothing but as for Karabi and Lite I personally believe that they were reincarnated to be Hover and Proudmane in this current life. I mean if you go back and watch episode 7 and put two and two together it does make a lot of sense because when Proudmane gets to know about Hover's relationship with Nothing, his homophobia shows as he reminds her that lioness relationship is against Pride law and dangerously warns her she could be killed for this. And we know how much Hover loves Nothing as Karabi and Kyoga once loved each other in another lifetime. So it makes perfect sense. Looking forward to Episode 9 on January 31, 2021.

Rain: "A thousand seasons ago, the world was a very different place. Instead of Pride, all lions belong to one of three Great Kingdoms."

Nothing: "This is how a story my grandmother used to tell me began."

Rain: "Each Kingdom had its own territory but all lions lived in harmony in a special, sacred place called the Emerald Valley."

Rain: "This is where you were born. Look."

Nothing: "Can they see us?"

Rain: "Nope. This is just a memory."

Nothing: "But, it's not my memory. I was born at the Sister's Steppe.

Rain: "You were called Kyoga and that cub you're playing with is Lite."

Nothing: "Kyoga and Lite from the legends?"

Rain: "You were both chosen by your Goddesses as leaders of your Kingdoms. You were promised to each other as mates."

Nothing: "... To create peace between the Sun and Moon Kingdoms. I know this story, why are we here?"

Rain: "Because you don't know this story. Come on."

Nothing: "Is that them? They grew up!"

Rain: "Shh! Pat attention."

Kyoga: "I've never even left the Emerald Valley and set foot on the wider territories. I don't think I'm ready to lead."

Lite: "There's no way we could  feel ready for this, it's a huge responsibility."

Kyoga: (LAUGHS) "You're not helping!"

Lite: (LAUGHS) "I'm not finished! I'm saying we'll be fine. The Goddesses don't make mistakes. We were born for this, and we'll always have each other. That's all we need. Right?"

Kyoga: "Right."

Lite: (YAWN) "I'm gonna go get some rest."

Kyoga: "Night! I'll be there soon."

Rain: "See, Kyoga liked Lite just fine. But something was missing."

Nothing: "This is one of the most famous love stories in history, what could have possibly been missing?"

Rain: "Her."

Karabi: "Is he gone?"

Kyoga: "He's gone."

Karabi: "I missed you! Don't make me stay away so long next time. I won't survive!"

Kyoga: "I'm sorry Karabi, I just don't... Don't want Lite to think..."

Nothing: "That's Karabi the Terrible? But they seem friends. Or...

Rain: "Kyoga cared for Lite, but the only lion she loved was Karabi."

Karabi: "I don't see why you just don't tell him about us! What will you do on your joining day?

Kyoga: "I'll go through with it. It's important for our Kingdom that we lead together so we will."

Karabi: "And that's it for us?"

Kyoga: "No! I mean I don't want it to be. I love you.

Karabi: "Right you love me but you don't want anyone to know about us. Sure."

Kyoga: "We need this alliance with the Sun Kingdom! What am I supposed to do!? I don't have a choice, Karabi."

Karabi: "You weren't born to serve a purpose. You were born to live a life. There's always a choice. What do you want your life to be? Not Lite or your Kingdom, you."

Rain: "Come on. This way."

Lite: "Where is she!? Lions from across the Three Kingdoms are out there waiting for our Joining Ceremony!"

Wolfmane: "We've searched the valley. No one's seen her, sir..."

Lite: "Well look again! She could've been kidnapped or killed!"

Precisecharge: "Lite! I have news of Kyoga."

Lite: "Finally! Where is she?"

Precisecharge: "She and Cansu's chosen Karabi, left together... She sent me to tell you she's safe and not to worry."

Lite: "Left with her? What do you mean?"

Precisecharge: "Ahem... It seems she... means to join with Karabi rather than you. Sir."

Lite: "You're lying. She was kidnapped." (GROWLS)

Precisecharge: "No, she was very clear--"

Lite: (ROARS) "I AM SUNCE'S CHOSEN! LEADER OF THE SUN KINGDOM! I DECIDE WHAT'S TRUE! WHERE HAVE THEY GONE?"

Precisecharge: "T-They didn't say."

Lite: "No matter. I'll find them."

Rain: (SIGHS) "This way."

Nothing: (GASPS)

Rain: "Lite started a war between the Sun and the Storm Kingdoms, accusing Karabi of kidnapping his bride and demanding retribution. It resulted in carnage on a scale never seen before or since. Soon enough, desperate to end the violence, Kyoga and Karabi agreed to meet Lite at the highest point in the Valley."

Nothing: "I've dreamt of this place..."

Lite: "I came alone just as you asked. Now give her back and all of this can be over."

Karabi: "Stay back. We came here to talk, that's all."

Kyoga: "Please, stop this Lite! I can't give you what you want."

Lite: "That's not true! You loved me!"

Kyoga: "I loved you dearly as my friend. Nothing more."

Lite: "You abandoned me? Without a word?"

Kyoga: "I did what I had to do to be happy. Please. Let us live in peace."

Lite: "There is no peace without you! I love you! Kyoga, look at me."

Karabi: (GROWLS) I said, STAY BACK!"

Kyoga: "Karabi stop it, what are you doing!?"

Karabi: "He's a monster Kyoga! He'll keep hunting us as long as he's alive! I have to end this!"

Kyoga: "Please don't kill him! I know he's done horrible things but... He was my friend. I... I can't watch you... Please, Karabi, let him go! For me."

Karabi: "Only for you."

Lite: (COUGHING)

Kyoga: "Thank you, Karabi. Lite, I'm sorry--"

Lite: "(ROARS)

Karabi: (GASPS AND GARGLES)

Kyoga: "KARABI!"

Karabi: (GASPING)

Lite: "She was gonna kill me! You heard her! I had to strike first, she's CRAZY!"

Kyoga: (SOBS) "I'm so sorry. You were right. I'm so stupid. Please hold on. I love you so much. Please hold on for me."

Lite: "Kyoga, I'm talking to you! Look at me!"

"Asra may take me but you will never win."

(WIND BLOWING INTENSELY) 

Lite: (GASPS)

Kyoga: "For the peace, you have denied us, your soul will know no peace. Not in this life or the next. EVERY LIFE YOU LIVE UPON THIS EARTH WILL BE MARRED WITH SUFFERING AND I WILL BE YOUR DEATH IN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. SO SAYS ASRA, THE GODDESS OF DEATH, YOU ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE CURSED, LITE OF THE SUN KINGDOM.

Nothing: "None of this played out the way it did in the story."

Rain: "That's because Lite was the only one left to tell the story. He told it and told it and when the Kingdoms fell he built Pride Law out of his hate and fear. When Sunce rose in the morning to discover Asra had interfered with the lives of the mortals, her fury was so hot and fierce the whole of the Emerald Valley was set ablaze. I did my best to put out the flames but... it wasn't enough. Asra's been missing since then and Sunce's anger has never subsided. That's why the dry season is longer and harder every year."

Nothing: "Asra's been missing? This whole time? But who's been taking spirits to the stars?"

Rain: "No one. Ghosts are trapped on Earth till she returns. That's why I need your help."

Nothing: "Me?"

Rain: "You are Kyoga, you're destined to kill Lite, whoever he is in this life. But if you do, the cycle will only repeat again. Asra will stay hidden, dry season will get worse, and Pride Law will continue. I want you to help me end it."

Nothing: "I'm sorry. I think you have the wrong lioness. I'm not Kyoga or a legend, I'm just... Nothing."

Rain: "You can believe that and do nothing or you can help me fix a broken world. Your choice."

Nothing: "Okay. What do you need me to do?"

Rain: "Find Asra. She's in Shifting Place. She and Sunce have got to reconcile, but it's under a curse to shift someplace else if Sunce or I get to close."

Nothing: "I wouldn't even know where to start looking."

Rain: "It'll come to you darlin'. It always does... But, uh, Asra won't leave it if she knows it's to see her sisters. Best keep this conversation between you and me."

Nothing: "You want me to trick a Goddess?"

Rain: "Not trick. Just... nudge in the right direction. She needs it."

Nothing: "I don't know if I can do that."

Rain: "When the time comes, I know you'll do the right thing."
