Mama's Brave Boy!

It was dry season in the Pride Lands and Chiku is sunning herself on some rocks while her parents who are getting on in their years sit nearby while Kiara is grooming a sleeping Kovu all was quiet and peaceful screams could be heard in the tall grass. Chiku was on her feet in a heartbeat as she recognized them as the screams of her son, Upepo. Upepo came sprinting through the grass and rushed past his grandparents and over to his mother.

Chiku: "Why whatever is the matter, Upepo?!"

Upepo: "Danger Mommy! I saw a monster in that tree over there."

As Kovu's grandson said this he slowly got to his feet and maneuvered over to where Upepo had emerged from as the old king moved his paw through the branches and smiled as he looked back at his daughter and wife.

Kovu: "Kiara, Chiku you may want to see this I think I've found Upepo's monster."

Kiara got to her feet to go check out this "monster" Upepo clutched onto his mother's leg very tightly.

Chiku: "Tell me angle what does this monster looks like?"

Upepo: "Well... It was very harry and has these razor sharp teeth and it makes these weird noises."

Chiku looked up as her parents started to walk back over to her. Then she notices a small perched animal on Kiara's shoulder.

Kiara: "Is this your "monster" Upepo?" 

Upepo came out from the protection on his mother's legs to look at the little creature to approach his grandmother to see a very frightened baby marmoset ducking behind the old queen.

Upepo: "That's it Grandmom! That's what I saw!" Upepo got confused for a minute. "Wait... Why is it scared?"

Kovu: "I think she was more scared of you then you are of her, my boy."

Chiku: "She's just a baby, son. I think your sudden movement and growls are what scared you. You are a lot bigger compared to her after all."

Upepo: "I scared her?!"

Chiku: "You did but what matters is that you overcome those fears and show how strong and brave you can come out from your fears. Just remember that next time something scary shows itself."

Upepo: "Okay Mommy!"

Chiku: "Now why don't we go and find this marmoset's mother I'm sure she's very worried about her baby."

Upepo: "Sure! Bye Grandmom and Granddad!"

Chiku: "We'll be back soon, Dad!"

Kovu: "We'll be here."

Kiara: "Take your time you two!"

And with that Kiara and Kovu watched on as their daughter and grandson walked side by side in search of the marmoset's mother.
