It's Terror Time Again! (Halloween 2022)

Happy early Halloween Everyone! I hope you're all enjoying this spooky and ghoulish season with good friends on this scary Thursday night. I wasn't going to miss out on submitting something for this creepy but festive holiday so pull up a bowel of your favorite treats and enjoy this terrifying but yet enjoyable submission as Tiifu trails back to Pride Rock after Rafiki tells the youngsters of the Pride Lands the tale of the Zimwi only to discover that Tiifu, Uzani, and Shujaa may not be alone as they originally thought.

   

Uzani was starting to get tired on her paws as she started to drift to the side while her brother boasted excitedly to their mother about how he wasn't scared of no Zimwi no matter how terrifying Rafiki made it out to be. Tiifu only smiled down on her son as she noticed Uzani was starting to collapse on herself. This annoyed Shujaa just a tad as he shoved her awake but to her relief her mother gathered her daughter's scruff in her jaws and enjoyed being carried even though these days she was still considered "too old" for it.

Shujaa only rolled his bright green eyes as he continued his trek home beside his mother and as they started to walk the long way back to Pride Rock, they began to hear some noises trailing a short distance behind the trio.

Uzani: "Tell me I'm not the only one who just heard that."

Shujaa: "No... I heard it as well..."

Uzani & Shujaa: "Mom?"

Tiifu: "We're walking through an old battle ground right now you two. Hyenas and lionesses loyal to Scar and Zira died here many seasons ago so I wouldn't be surprised if their spirits are lurking in the dark even now..." 

The three lions each looked in different directions looking to see if they can spot any eyes within the darkness, but nothing could be seen.

Tiifu: "Come on cubs. The sooner we get home the better. I don't like luring out in the open like this after dark."

As soon as Tiifu and Shujaa started to pick up the pace again but soon a horrific scream almost that of a haunting hyena cackling could be heard behind them mixed in with the growling of lions. This made the family turn around again and sure enough there where the ghosts of evil minions' long dead starting to creep up on Tiifu, Uzani, and Shujaa. As the three let out blood curdling screams they began to run as fast as their paws could carry them. 

Tiifu: "Shujaa! Uzani! Run and don't stop until you reach Pride Rock!!"

Shujaa: "You don't have to tell us twice, Mom!!"

The mother and her two cubs ran as the ghouls began to follow chase.

As Shujaa looks over his shoulder once more he spots a large dark mass in the sky under the full moon at first he couldn't believe what he was seeing he thought it was only a tale to scare young cubs but with his mouth agape and speechless he called his out to his mother and sister to look back. Uzani looked back but Tiifu kept running.

Shujaa: "Z-Z-Z..."

Uzani: "IT'S THE ZIMWI!!"

The two cubs took off as fast as they could back towards Tiifu. They tried to tell her what they saw but she just wasn't listening as she told them to keep looking and not to look back.

As the shadow creature looked down on its terrified victims it let out a cackle that echoed across the Pride Lands for all to hear before it and its projections of the hyenas and lions disappeared along with the Zimwi itself.
