Exhausted Caregiver

While most of the pride is either out hunting or her family is tending to the care of Simba in his frail state Kiara has spent almost the entire day not just looking after her own cubs, Princess Chiku and Crown Prince Mukasa, but while Tiifu was spending time at Rafiki's tree healing from a leg injury she had received in a stampede of zebras earlier that week Kiara was also tasked to watch her niece and nephew Uzani and Shujaa. Don't get her wrong she loved spending time in her new role as an aunt but four cubs was way too many for her to take on alone. Kiara finally turned her deep red eyes to the entrance as she saw her brother, Kion and her mate, Kovu enter the cave together.

Kiara: "About time you two showed up! Kovu you're on watch duty now."

Kovu: "Hello to you too my love." He chuckled softly as he nuzzled the tired mother.

Kiara: "I'm serious Kovu. I'm serious and I need some well earned sleep."

Kion: "So I guess you won't be watching my cubs tomorrow then?"

Kiara: "To be honest Kion but I have a hunting party to attend to tomorrow I'm sure Zuri wouldn't mind watching Shujaa and Uzani for a little while."

Kion: "Are you mental, Kiara! Not a chance would I ever leave either of my cubs with Zuri her little monster, Mzuri played too rough with my daughter the other day. I think maybe Mom and Dad wouldn't mind watching them instead they love cubs after all."

All Kiara's was a yawn as she finally curled up and closed her tired eyes for a well deserved rest.

Kovu turned to his bother-in-law as he came over to the waiting father with Uzani and Shujaa in his jaws they both broke into excited squeaks and mewls at the sight of their daddy as the uncle handed them over to their father Kion noded his thanks and left to take the two of them to see their mother still healing at Rafiki's tree.
