Because I Love Him!!

For awhile now Rani and Vihar had been meeting in secret despite the tensions between both their families. the Queen Mother, Janna and her conical of elders was working with the elders of the Winter Pride to form some sort of alliance so these hostilities over territory disputes wouldn't end in anymore unnecessary bloodshed and senseless violence. But for some time Rani’s family was getting suspicious with her early leavings and late nights coming home for dinner. It was Rani’s mother, Ãnanda who asked her husband’s brother, Surak if he could fetch her one night because she was worried and wondered why what was keeping her daughter out so late. When Surak went out to look for Rani he checked all wooded areas where he KNEW his niece had been spending most of her time as of late. As Surak checked behind a large bush he was shocked to find who Rani was sitting with a Snow White lion with a silver mane that glistened under the sun like snow sparkling under a sunny day.

Surak: “RANI! What in all lions of the past do you think you’re doing?!”

Rani and Vihar turned around absolutely stunned at seeing the big brown lion standing there but just as quick as Surak was surprised his look turned to one of utter disappointment.

Rani: “Uncle Surak! I-I was just leaving. There was no need to come all the way out here to fetch me.”

Surak: “It’s past dinner time young lady and your mother has asked me to come and fetch you. She’s been concerned about you for awhile and now I know why she is right to be concerned.”

Rani: “What I choose to do is neither none of Dad or Mom’s business and I really wish they would stop hovering over me like I’m some delicate little flower.”

Surak: “You are heir to the throne of course they’re worried. I worry for you sometimes and so does your sister and grandmother. Now that I’ve found you let’s go home.”

Vihar: “I’ll just leave then… See you around sometime Rani.”

Just as the Prince of the Winter Pride was about to leave undetected Surak blocked Vihar’s way.

Surak: “I don’t think so, boy… My niece’s parents have been concerned about Rani’s late nights out for weeks now that I know the reason I’m sure that her parents would love to know just as much. Come along “your majesty”…”

Vihar stood there stunned for a moment as he looked at Rani shock full in his deep purple eyes. Rani’s only response was an apologetic look towards her sweetheart and both Cubs started to slowly follow Surak back to the tree.

~~~ A Short Time Later… ~~~

The three walked towards the Tree in utter silence were the royal family was gathered all except for Sãhasí who was away from his home for some official business.

Surak: “I’ve found your daughter, Ãnanda and she wasn’t alone.” Surak stepped to the side to reveal the royal snow lion.

Nirmala, Ãnanda and Janna seemed stunned by the sight and all three eyes trailed towards Rani.

Janna: “Rani, what is the meaning of this?”

Rani: “I don’t mean to sound annoyed, Grandmother but it is really none of your business.”

Ãnanda: “Rani! You will show your grandmother the utmost respect. She is a very wise queen and when she asks you a question you answer her. I don’t want to hear you speak that way to her again.”

Rani: “I know what you’re going to say, Mom! You’re going to list to me a bunch of “reasons” why you and Grandma think it’s a terrible idea why a two lions from two enemy prides can’t be together! Yes I admit it… Vihar and I are in love and our love is more powerful than you can ever know.”

Surak: “Rani…!”

Rani: “NO, UNCLE SURAK!! I need to say this and I need all of you to listen. I didn’t tell you about my secret relationship because I knew this would happen if I was ever caught. So what if I have a connection to a snow lion and especially a snow lion who is royalty like me.”

Rani beckoned Vihar with her tail to stand beside him.

Rani: “We’re in love with each other and all I want from you, my family is to welcome him into the family as one of us.”

Ãnanda: “You aren’t suggesting what I think you’re suggesting…?”

Janna: “Rani you are only but a mere child. You should be concerned with making friends and playing with your siblings, being a good role model to your brother, Baliyo.”

Ãnanda: “Rani you are too young for marriage! Let go of these foolish ideas at once and I never want you seeing this lion ever again. He’s our enemy and no daughter of mine will marry into the enemies family!”

Rani: “You may not be ready to accept the idea but in time you will realize that our marriage will bring an alliance and a union of peace between both our prides. If that’s something you aren’t ready to accept than I don’t know what will! Come on, Vihar. We’re not wanted here let’s go find some better company were we’ll actually be welcome amongst.”

With that Rani turned with her tail held high in the air leaving her family extremely shocked and stunned by her outburst response.
