A Restful Day Off

There's nothing Shujaa loves more than spending his days off with his new mate, Maua. When she first told him that she had a healing touch he often wondered if she could heal his sore and acing joints. He may have once been the Strongest Member of the Lion Guard but even after all the heavy pushing and lifting the young lion has done even still after moving from the Pride Lands to the Tree of Life he still continued with the heavy jobs but when the times his young body started to weaken and tire he always knew who to turn to when he felt this way. One particular morning Shujaa awoke extra early to meet Maua down at the beach. Because she had been saying he had been overworking himself and wanted to check him over. Shujaa had insisted he was fine but his body said otherwise. With a roll of her eyes she said to meet her down at the beach the following morning. Shujaa didn’t protest and limped down to the beach where he saw Maua.

Maua: “Good morning, sleepyhead. How did you sleep?”

Shujaa: “I’ll be the first to admit… Ugh! I didn’t have a restful night.” He stretched his shoulders as he said this.

Maua: “Well that’s why we’re here.” Maua grabbed a pawful of mud from a nearby mud pot.

Shujaa: “Um… What’s that for?”

Maua: “Well lie down and I’ll show you.”

Shujaa: “Okay then…”

Shujaa goes to lie down in the hot sand and Maua starts to plaster his face with mud and smear it all around.

Maua: “This is a mud mask, Shujaa. It’s going to make your fur much softer when it dries.”

Shujaa: “It already feels nice… I admit I feel relaxed already…”

Maua: “I’m just getting started love…” Maua walks over to her satchel full of medicinal herbs and other things she carries on herself and removes two slices of white grapefruit. “Close your eyes please.” Shujaa complies to his wife’s request and shuts his eyes as she places the two slices of white grapefruit over each eye.

Shujaa: “That feels nice…”

Maua: “Now you just relax while I massage your back.” Maua starts working her paws as she feels Shujaa’s body start to slug.

Shujaa: “Ahhh… You’re so good to me… What would I ever do without you?”

Maua: “Just be glad you don’t have me a healer really knows her stuff.”

Shujaa: “Isn’t that the truth…”

For the first time in awhile Shujaa let’s both his body and his guard down so he can enjoy his mate spoil him greatly. Now he understood why his mom, Tiifu and Zuri where always into this sort of thing when they were cubs and unlike his father, Kion or sister, Uzani he liked this sort of thing and from here on he wanted to get pampered like this by Maua as much as he possibly could.
