Nirmala was just returning home with the newcomer she found on the boarder marking the Winter Pride a young female tigon cub going by the name of Nya. The trip had been a long and quiet one and as they approached the heart of Nirmala's home she finally decided to turn around and saw that Nya had a look of sadness showing in her eyes yet at the same time she seemed very deep in thought. Nirmala stopped in her tracks and turned to face the young cub. Nya seemed to stop in her tracks as she looked up at Nirmala she saw the chestnut brown lioness had stopped in the middle of the trail her blue eyes showing nothing but a gentle kindness with a hint of concern for the young tigon.
Nirmala: "Is something troubling you, Nya?"
Nya sighed as she slouched on her haunches before looking slowly back up at the healer of the Tree of Life.
Nya: "It's just... What if I'm not welcomed at the Tree of Life? Animals who live here may consider me as some sort of abomination an eyesore of some sorts I may not even--"
Nirmala stopped Nya in her ramblings of self-doubt and negativity about herself by grabbing her chin with her paw.
Nirmala: "Now don't you go talking about yourself that way. You have plenty of potential and I'll let you in on a little secret you are not the only hybrid to cross the path of the Tree of Life. In fact there's someone I want you to meet when he gets home. He and his sister are out on a training hunt session right now with their uncle. But in the meantime let me tell you the story about another young lioness hybrid like yourself she doesn't live here anymore but in a far away place the birthland of our king who rules here..."
As Nirmala started to explain the story of Queen Rani's daughter, Amela. Nya was both surprised and inspired when Nirmala finished her story of the rejected lioness who lived day in and day out of a life of hell just for who her father was and they had judged her based on his past actions in light that she may turn out as crazed and out of control like he was. She eventually found some peace in the Pride Lands and was living out her days among the king's sister's kingdom where she had become accepted and appreciated for who she was and what she did serving on the Lion Guard.
Nirmala: "So you see if Amela can overcome her own doubts you can achieve this yourself as well."
Nya: “I just… I thought if I was so out of place I wouldn’t be welcomed here both by the royal rulers or the inhabitants of this sacred tree.”

Nirmala: "Believe me, Nya if that was the case I wouldn’t have brought you back here for the meal you deserve or a warm bed for you to rest your little head. Besides a family of tigers does live here and the cubs are just a little bit older then you are now. I'm sure their mother, Varya wouldn't mind if you got well acquainted with her cubs."
Nya: "I would love to get to know them what are their names?"
Nirmala: "Feliks, Polina, and Pasha. You'll love the three of them I can guarantee you that much."
Nya: "I'm looking forward to meeting them."
Nirmala: "That's not all just wait until you meet Baraka."
Nya: "Baraka?"
Nirmala: "You two have much more in common then you think. You'll meet him later but first lets head back to my den and I'll fetch you some food."
Nya's stomach growled as she blushed of embarrassment.
Nirmala: "Perhaps your stomach agrees. Come and I'll grab you some food."
~ Back at Nirmala and Surak's Den... ~
Maua and her younger brother, Sahasi where hanging around their den with Sahasi sunning himself under a large sunny spot while Maua was gathering new stocks of herbs while cleaning out the dead and dried up old ones inside the den all at the same time. As Maua was looked over to her brother she rolled her heterochromia eyes before shooting Sahasi a dirty look.
Maua: "Hey! Can't I get some help? Stop lazing about and lend me a paw already!"
Sahasi: "We've been over this, Maua! Herbs and healing methods is yours and Mom's thing."
Maua hissed as she gritted her teeth in annoyance at her brother's childish response.
Maua: "You don't have to be an expert like me to clean out the den now get over here and--"
Nirmala: "Hello? Anybody home?"
Maua and Sahasi stopped their bickering at once they heard their mother's voice breaking through the trees.
Maua: "Hi Mom!"
Sahasi: "Afternoon Mom! How was the patrol?"
Nirmala: "Well I didn't find any sign of Banya's goons and no Winter Pride stranglers where lingering around our edge of the boarder but I did find someone wondering alone near the boarder."
Maua: "Oh yeah? Who is it Mom?"
Nirmala: "You can come out now!"
A little orange form with stripes came out from behind Nirmala's legs as she looked around carefully then she spotted Maua and Sahasi as the siblings stared at her in shock.
Sahasi: "A female liger!"
Maua: "Not a liger, Sahasi but a tigon."
Sahasi: "What's the difference? Baraka is one of her kind so why would it make a difference?"
Maua: "It all comes down to the parentage, brother. Where as Baraka's father was a lion and his mother was a tiger this young female has a tiger for a father and a lioness for a mother."
Sahasi: "Is this true, Mom?"
Nirmala: "What your sister says is true, son. That's the very difference between the two types of hybrids. Now Nya why don't you go and get something to eat then we'll go see the king and queen."
Nya only nodded and went to the corner where Nirmala's family kept their stock of meat handy. She grabbed a mountain goat leg and took it over to a tree where she munched on it hungrily. While the cub was eating Nirmala turned back to her own two cubs.
Nirmala: "Hey you two how would you feel about having another sibling?"
Maua: "Mom are you--"
Nirmala: "No I'm not expecting, Maua! I was however thinking of adopting this young one into our family."
Sahasi: "Where are her parents, Mom?"
Nirmala: "She told me her mother has went to see the Great Kings and Queens in the stars. Her father she had never met before but she tells me she has no other place else to go. I took great pity on her and I haven't brought the offer up to her yet but how would you feel about adopting Nya here as your younger sister of course I will speak to your father when he returns from his own patrol but I just wanted to grab both of your inputs on the idea before I ask her to join our family."
Maua: "I've always wanted a little sister to look at me as a role model. What do you think Sahasi?"
Sahasi: "Eh... You can be a thorn in my side at times, sis but after hearing Nya's situation I would be happy to take her in with open paws and call her "my sister"."
Nirmala: "Excellent then after we meet with Kion and Rani I'll make the offer known that she will be welcome to join our family if that's what she wishes."
Nirmala glances back at Nya as she's still munching on her meal in silence. While Sahasi and Maua share an look of excitement about getting another sibling. Nirmala's mate, Surak would need a little more convincing yes he was known to be calm and likes to think before he acts but he also was known to be very stubborn with his views too. Yes he would take pity on Nya's story but Surak was one of the lions who voted to kick Amela out of the tree and into exile. So hopefully Surak would accept Nya as his daughter and would protect her with his life if he ever had too.
