A Blooming Crush

[Scene: A beautiful, sunlit field of flowers. Tiifu and Zuri are sitting together, giggling as they place flowers in each other’s fur. The scent of blossoms drifts through the air as the two young lionesses enjoy the peaceful afternoon.]

Tiifu: (giggling) Oh, Zuri! That one looks perfect on you! It matches your eyes!

Zuri: (smirking) Obviously. Everything looks good on me. Now hold still—your turn!

[Zuri tucks a bright teal flower behind Tiifu’s ear just as the sound of voices carries through the field.]

Kion: (off-screen) …so then I told Bunga it wasn’t that steep, but of course, he didn’t listen.

Fuli: (chuckles) Sounds about right.

Kiara: (laughs) Typical Bunga. What happened next?

[As the voices grow closer, Tiifu looks up, spotting Kion, Kiara, and Fuli walking together, deep in conversation. Kion walks in the middle, his golden mane catching the sunlight. Tiifu’s eyes widen, and she suddenly stops fussing with flowers.]

Tiifu: (softly, almost mesmerized) …Kion.

[Zuri blinks, noticing Tiifu’s expression as she watches Kion walk past. Her eyes dart between Tiifu and Kion, putting the pieces together. A smirk slowly creeps onto her face.]

Zuri: (teasing) Ohhh. I see what’s going on here.

Tiifu: (snapping out of it, blushing) Huh? W-What do you mean?

Zuri: (grinning) You were staring at Kion like he was the last juicy zebra in the Pride Lands.

Tiifu: (flustered) I was not! I was just… just—

Zuri: (mockingly dreamy) “Just admiring the way his mane looks all golden in the sun?”

Tiifu: (ears flattening) Zuri!

[Zuri giggles, clearly enjoying this way too much. Meanwhile, Kion and the others continue walking, completely oblivious to the conversation happening behind them.]

Zuri: (nudging Tiifu) Sooo… do you have a little crush on Kion?

Tiifu: (quickly) N-No! I mean… maybe? I—Oh, Zuri, stop it!

Zuri: (laughs) Tiifu and Kion, sitting in a tree—

Tiifu: (hissing) Zuri!

[Zuri just grins wider, twirling a flower between her claws. Tiifu huffs, clearly flustered, but a small smile tugs at her lips as she sneaks another glance in Kion’s direction. The two lionesses return to their flower-decorating, though Tiifu seems a little more distracted now.]
