A Bad Encounter

This scene is supposed to be set in an Alternate Universe so any of the events of Lion Guard Season 3 with Kion as a teen never happened. Simba, Nala, Kiara, and Kovu didn't meet the first Rani at the Tree of Life. This scene happened when Nala and Simba are in their senior years and Kion is an adult with his own family shared with his former mate, Tiifu.

One afternoon as Shujaa is sunning himself on one of the lower leagues of Pride Rock with his sister, Uzani, and his mother, Tiifu right next to him. His ears started to flick at the sound of laughing and cheerful voices. He opens his green eyes a slit and finds that his father, Kion is talking with a brown lioness at his side. It was... HER! Shujaa scowled at Rani as she and Kion got closer to Pride Rock. Shujaa poked his mother in the side with his paw to stir her awake. 

"What's the matter, son?" Tiifu asks as she opens her jaws wide into an enormous yawn.

"Dad's here, Mom... With Rani." Shujaa slowly turned his head towards his mother as she looks over the league. Kion and Rani are climbing the rocks and jumping up to the top of Pride Rock now. Without a moment's hesitation, Tiifu picks up Uzani by her scruff in her jaws as she finally stirs awake. "Ow... Mom! I'm not a baby anymore you don't have to carry me. Why are you carrying me anyway?"

Tiifu glances down at her daughter. "Sorry, sweetheart. It's just that--" Tiifu was interrupted midspeech when Kion and Rani climbed to the same ledge as they were standing on. Kion and Tiifu locked eyes for a few moments. "Oh... Hi Daddy!" Uzani mewed after realizing what was going on as she waved one of her paws at her father. Uzani looked at Shujaa and he shared the same look of concern she now had on her face.

"We were just leaving, Kion." Tiifu said as she sets Uzani down for a moment. She shifts her eyes back and forth between Kion and Rani cooly.

"That's fine Tiifu, but I would like to spend some time with my cubs during my visit." Kion glares ay Tiifu.

""OUR CUBS", Kion! They're NOT just yours and don't you ever forget that!" Tiifu snarls as she quickly composes her control once again. "You will have your time with them but I would really prefer if your new mate wasn't attached to your side all the time. Every time Uzani and Shujaa glance at you she's always with you and it upsets them greatly! Please just for their sakes please spend some one on one time with them they miss you greatly. I'm asking you to do the right thing as their mother!" Tiifu's eyes started to show some of that old emotion of heartache the last time she and Kion got into an argument.

Kion gets angry at this as he stands in front of Rani blocking her path from Tiifu's view and looms over her in a threatening position Uzani slowly backs off and stands next to her brother as she flattens her ears Shujaa glares at his father as he growls quietly at their mother. "You listen to me, Tiifu, and listen well...! The only thing you and I have left is where our children are concerned. You do not and I mean DO NOT get to tell me how to live my life! If Rani is around or not that's none of your business. I want MY CUBS to get acquainted with MY MATE and running off like the coward you are with them every time we show up isn't what I want to see! So you may have them for the rest of the day but tomorrow is my day with them and Rani will be there with us. If you have a problem with me that's fine but you will not start in and verbally attack Rani, Understood!" Kion slowly backs off as Tiifu's eyes start to swell with tears. 

She motions Uzani over as she picks her up in her jaws once again. By this point, Simba and Nala walk out of the den slowly. Kion's look of cold anger on Tiifu suddenly changes to a smile as he introduces Rani to his parents. Tiifu stopped for a moment to see that Shujaa is still glaring at Rani and Kion both. Tiifu calls for Shujaa to follow her and after nuzzling his grandparents each. He takes off glaring at Rani to follow his mother. "Where are we going to go now?" He asks curiously while looking at his mother. "To go and see your Aunt Kiara." Was all she said muffled by Uzani's fur?
