Reckless is named such because, as a foal, she seemed to be the unlucky one that always slammed into the fence or a tree. She had speed as a foal, being small and fleet, but little control, and she didn't seem to possess the ability to brake.

Now, as an older mare, she has calmed down (thank goodness), and her foalhood insanity doesn't seem to be passing on to her foals.
