Description

After installing the latest version of DAZ Studio and finding out about the new physics/cloth simulation dForce, i had to give it a try.
I managed to simulate a rectangular piece of cloth, but i think i will work my way up from there xD

Done in DAZ Studio Pro 4.10, rendered with Iray, postwork done in Adobe Photoshop CC and Google NIK Collection.

A great Piece overall, and a wonderful test run image for experimenting with something new.

First will do composition

The look of the Red silk is wonderful and theres always something sexy about silk draping over a womans curves, however the dimensions of it seem a little odd, as well as the angle at witch its draped across her. I feel like you tried to accomplish an effect that would have been better achieved with two individual stretches of fabric using only one. That rather then use a single piece to cover her breasts and another to cover her groin you tried to do both at once to cut work which for a test run is perfectly valid mind you, but i think you would have been better off simply letting the cloth cover her legs entirely.

In addition I think you could of really made the silk pop by simply having the flooring/background be a black low gloss fabric. Even better would have been to have her be on a bed with black sheets, or a black couch.

Next lets look at posing,

overall its well done, but i think you'd have been better served having her right arm run across her stomach either under or over the silk as the current pose caused some fire-hosing at her elbow, which on a typical piece would be fine as putting in the time to fix it in post would be worth it, but in a experiment putting in the time to fix that isn't so practical. In addition lets revisit the legs, since her left arm extends past the edge of the frame, it feels to me like her legs being bent up is forced and unnatural, as such i think you'd have been better off having her left arm remain in the frame and her legs extend beyond it, and since i presume the reason you had her legs bent was to allow the silk to drape over her foot to show it draping over an extremity i think it would have been a better choice to have it drape over her left or right arm and allow the legs to extend beyond the frame making the image more of a standard portrait layout focusing on the upper body rather then the lower.

My final note would be the almost pastel/colored pencil effect on the whole image, This is more my own personal taste but i think it takes away from the image but thats just me.
