I had only ever seen it once before in my lifetime. In fact, to my knowledge, only three specimens had ever been studied, of which one had been mine. As I drew close, I heard its hum, like a distant voice singing softly along the wind. My theory, based upon careful examination of the first plant, was that somehow it was resonating with the earth below it. Its leaves quivered slightly, a crystal lattice somehow merged with organic life that radiated with a soft glow when exposed to light. I reached out towards it, carefully, very carefully. "Oi!" shouted some voice from above me, "Don't go touchin' that!" A small figure jumped down from the trees, hardly making an impact on the grass. I stared at him, entirely perplexed, until eventually I gathered my wits and said, "And who would you be?" With a little smirk, he sat himself upon the grass, "I'm the gardener."
