Long Sprout TWWM Canon

Anything marked Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! NC is considered to be non-canon which is allowed to be explored in personal works and submitted to the Miscellaneous gallery folder, but since they do not contribute to the collective esk lore they do not earn points in the game. NC work that violates the group rules (including making MYOs without earning them in the game) will not be accepted into the gallery. Anything marked with a green bullet (Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U!) will earn points in the game.

Long Sprout Morphs

Morphs are available to anyone with a MYO slot (Nursery, Greenhouse, Transformation, or raffle/event prize) as long as the MYO meets the morph requirements. The list of morphs and their requirements can be found here.

MORPH TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Each morph comes with unique traits that cannot be modified. For example: you cannot add colored markings to the Arctic morphs winter coat.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Any other uncommon or rare traits can be modified using the EE. For example: you can make a sleek fungi morph become shaggy using GP.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Using a morph shift overrides existing unique traits — morphs cannot hybridize, the shift will convert the esk into the new morph and some of the original morphs traits may be lost.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Morph shifts (ability to change an existing esk's morph) are available for limited-time-only during special events.

Long Sprout Abnormals

QUICK LINKS:  Lore | Design guide | Mutations | Examples

ABNORMAL TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! You can add as many mutations to your Abnormal MYO as you want.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Abnormal esk can only be created from plants, objects, minerals, or existing esk. They cannot be created from elements (fire, water, etc), intangible things (phenomena, ideas, etc), mythological creatures (unicorns, etc), or things that are not found on Earth (stars, planets, etc).
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Your Abnormal MYO must retain some traits or qualities from its original form (object, plant, fungi, mineral, or existing esk). These traits or qualities can take the form of an accessory without requiring an EE purchase or can be reflected in their anatomy, coloration, or presentation of nature features.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Abnormal Transformations allow you to redesign an existing esk and you can change their ID info (nature, boundary, etc). This is the only way to change an esk's nature, size, or boundary/biome.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Abnormals still acquire the boundary/biome of where they were transformed. If you create one from an object/plant/etc then you must use nature features from that boundary/biome, and if you create one from an existing esk you must only add nature features from that boundary/biome.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Owning an Abnormal does not automatically grant players access to Abnormal Transformations. You are not able to create new Abnormals until you reach the Nature Spirit level (4000AP).

ABNORMAL LORE
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Abnormals retain all nature features, abilities, modifications, and transformation power wherever they go. You can depict an Abnormal in any boundary or biome without removing any traits or abilities.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Abnormals created from objects/plants/etc are allowed to have "Abnormal" as their origin. They do not need a secondary origin (traveler or trespasser), adding a secondary origin is optional.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Abnormals created from existing esk are either "Abnormal Travelers" or "Abnormal Trespassers" depending on their current alignment.

Long Sprout Prompts

QUICK LINKS: Origin prompts | Monthly prompts | Wanderer prompts

ORIGIN PROMPT TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Origin prompts must be about esk that you own personally. You can either create art/writing for the prompt yourself or commission another artist/writer to make it for you, but it still can only apply to an esk that belongs to you.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Please maintain continuity — if your esk was created via Transformation, please use the esk that was used to make them in your esk's origin prompts.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! All formats of art, writing, crafts, and more are accepted for origin prompts as long as they meet the requirements. If you are unsure how your prompt submission fits in you can send a group note for advice.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! You can do the origin prompts in any order and you are not required to complete all of them.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! GP bonus goes to all esk featured in the artwork/writing.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Only the owner of the esk whose origin story is being told gets to claim the AP bonus.
Collaborators or commissioned artists do not get to claim the AP bonus.

MONTHLY PROMPT TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! You can use esk that belong to other players in your monthly prompts as long as you have permission from the owner. If you do a monthly prompt involving another player's esk only you receive the AP and AP bonus, but their character will receive GP and the GP bonus.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! You may also use NPC in your monthly prompts as long as you adhere to their personalities and backstories as provided in the NPC pages.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Monthly prompts are available for 12 months after they are first posted and you can do them as many times as you like before their expiration and still earn the bonus.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Monthly prompts cannot be stacked or combined with each other, with Origin Prompts, or with Events.

WANDERER PROMPT TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! The Wanderer prompts focus on the Wanderers and must predominately feature them. Where the prompt fits, you may include other esk but the focus should still be on the Wanderer.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! You can do the Wanderer prompts in any order.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Completing the Wanderer prompts does not give a player a free transformation slot. In order to do the transformation, the player must have enough AP to have unlocked a transformation slot.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! All formats of art, writing, crafts, and more are accepted for the Wanderer prompts as long as they meet the requirements. If you are unsure how your prompt submission fits in you can send a group note for advice.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Commissions are allowed, only the buyer will fulfill the prompt and get the bonuses. Collaborations are not accepted for these prompts.

Long Sprout Transformations

QUICK LINKS: Lore | Transformations | Gifting and swapping Transformations | Transformation rewards

TRANSFORMATION TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U!Please maintain continuity through ownership transfers by retaining the creators as they are logged in the transformation history. The esk used to create your MYO should also be the esk used in their backstory of how they came to be. This is not an enforced rule but is highly encouraged in order to maintain an overall, shared narrative within the community.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Transformations can be swapped for other transformations or for existing esk characters.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Transformations cannot be sold or bartered, please help keep MYOs free for everyone in this community!

NORMAL TRANSFORMATIONS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Resulting esk must be the same biome as the creator.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Resulting esk must have the same boundary as the creator, or an adjacent boundary.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Familiars, accessories, enchantments, and elemental powers are not included in transformations and must be purchased separately using the Energy Exchange.

ABNORMAL TRANSFORMATIONS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Resulting esk does not need to have the same biome or boundary as the creator.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Story-wise, the new esk's biome and boundary need to be determined by the location of the transformation site.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Familiars, accessories, enchantments, and elemental powers are not included in transformations and must be purchased separately using the Energy Exchange unless you are transforming an object into an Abnormal, then you are allowed to include parts of that object in your MYO design without having to purchase an accessory.

Long Sprout Energy Exchange

QUICK LINKS: Energy Exchange FAQs

ENERGY EXCHANGE TIPS
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Do not submit character artwork including Energy Exchange modifications to the group until your request has been confirmed by staff. These submissions will not be accepted or scored until the exchange is finalized.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Traits and nature features can be removed without spending GP as long as you are reducing the rarity of your esk and not increasing it. You can use a Spirit Renewal to make this update without using the EE.

Long Sprout Conservatory

QUICK LINKS: Lore (under construction) | General information | Conservatory submissions

CONSERVATORY TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Designing your own Wellsprings are considered part of the Conservatory and will earn you the bonus.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Artwork must show a clear effort to depict the space and not show a general landscape or environment. Including a suggestion of walls or ceiling will help identify your submission as part of the Conservatory.

WITHIN THE CONSERVATORY
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! All esk from all biomes can mingle without losing any of their nature features, traits, or modifications including familiars and magic ability.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! All esk can access the Conservatory by teleportation or other means (open to player interpretation).
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Esk cannot do transformations and no esk will be able to have the Conservatory as a boundary.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! The Biome Wanderers cannot appear in the Conservatory.

Long Sprout Boundaries and biomes

QUICK LINKS: Boundary and biome lore | Biome Sign-ups | FAQs
note: all players must sign their esk up for a biome in order to use them in the game.

BOUNDARY TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Boundaries must be fixed locations — they cannot be moving objects or other esk.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! The qualities of a boundary can change over time but this will not alter their boundary description in the masterlist or change their biome; only an Abnormal Transformation can change their boundary/biome description. It is up to player interpretation to investigate how changing landscapes and environments affect their character.

EFFECTS OF BOUNDARIES AND BIOMES ON ESK:
WITHIN THEIR BOUNDARY
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Can do transformations.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have all accessories and familiars.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U!  Will have full enchantments, and elemental power.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have crystals and transformation rewards.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have nature features.

WITHIN THEIR BIOME BUT NOT WITHIN THEIR BOUNDARY
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Cannot do transformations.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have moderate or diminished enchantments or elemental powers.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have all accessories and familiars.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have crystals and transformation rewards.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have nature features.

OUTSIDE OF THEIR BOUNDARY AND THEIR BIOME
 Cannot do transformations.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Will not have all accessories or familiars
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Will not have transformation rewards that are not crystals.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Will not have nature features.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have weak or faint enchantments or elemental powers.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Will have crystals.

ABNORMALS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Abnormals retain all accessories, familiars, enchantments, elemental powers, crystals, rewards, nature features, and transformation ability in any biome.

HOW BOUNDARIES AND BIOMES AFFECT ENCHANTMENTS AND ELEMENTALS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Enchantments and elemental powers increase and decrease based on their resonance with the environment they are in. If they are near the center of their boundary they are at full power, if they are in a biome that feels energetically similar to their home they will feel moderate power, and if they are in a location that is not harmonious with their boundary/biome then they will feel weakened power (or perhaps none at all). This part of the lore is open for player interpretation; how your esk's magic changes in different locations in both appearance and effect are up to you, but overall the esk should show the largest/strongest manifestation of their power close to the boundary and the smallest/weakest manifestation when outside the biome (unless they are Abnormal).

Example: Healing Aura
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! within boundary: glowing pink swirling aura around the esk with a little halo, fully heals surrounding beings
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! within biome outside boundary: aura shrinks only around the halo, can only partially heal things.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! outside biome: only the halo remains, unable to heal

Example: Rain Elemental
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! within boundary: carries a storm cloud in its form and brings heavy rain
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! within biome outside boundary: storm cloud shrinks small and can only bring light rain
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! outside biome: only a few rain drops remain in manifestation, can only bring a tiny drizzle of rain

Long Sprout Character modifications

QUICK LINKS: General information | Accessories guide | Familiars guide | Enchantments guide | Elemental guide |

ACCESSORY TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Applying an enchantment to an accessory requires that you purchase the enchantment separately.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Accessories should always be based on real world items.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Fantasy or futuristic objects are not accepted.

FAMILIAR TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Applying an enchantment to an familiar requires that you purchase the enchantment separately.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Familiars should always be based on real world animals.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Fantasy creatures or unrealistic animals (impossible hybrids, colors, etc) are not accepted

ENCHANTMENT TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Designs, names, and effects are up to you!
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Must have an effect on the surrounding area or beings.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Enchantments can affect markings or nature features by giving them an aura or glowing quality. They can also be applied to familiars and accessories to give them a magical appearance, but cannot convert those mods to anything outside of the esk canon.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Enchantments cannot add rare traits to an esk or otherwise modify their form or anatomy. Enchantments should affect their environment, not the esk itself.

ELEMENTAL TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! You can choose any naturally occurring element found in nature.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Converting an esk into an Elemental affects them holistically — it can alter their modifications and traits as long as you do not increase their rarity.
Dot Bullet (Red) - F2U! Esk should not be all-powerful in their control over the elements. We recommend having your elemental power focus on 1-2 aspects of that element. For example: instead of giving a Water Element complete control over all forms of water you might instead give them control of tides and ocean swells only.

Long Sprout Wanderers (NPC)

QUICK LINKS: How to use the NPC | 000 | The Wanderers' pagesGreenhouse stories | Wanderer Transformations | Wanderer prompts

NPC TIPS
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! You can use NPC in all monthly, origin, and event prompts as long as you adhere to their personalities, stories, and the prompt requirements.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! NPC can be used in origin prompts as long as it makes sense to do so. If your esk was created using a transformation you must use the esk that was used for the transformation slot, you cannot switch over to a NPC.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! When you submit a batch upload featuring multiple NPCs you are allowed to either apply the bonus to the submission as a whole (once) or apply it to each separate image based on your self-evaluation of your work and efforts.
Dot Bullet (Lime Green) - F2U! Wanderer Transformations provide you an opportunity to have a Wanderer be the creator when you do a Transformation, by completing the Wanderer Prompts instead of spending Growth Points.

I've read through most(?) of the rules and information, so this little bit has probably just been pushed out my my brain by everything else I've read about TWWM, but what is a transformation tier? Are those the player levels your earn through gaining AP, or something else? Just asking because it's part of the form for Wellspring Reviews and can't really find a link that explains it

KaijuRomance's avatar

A transformation tier refers to the rarity (which traits are included) of the transformation your esk performs. The higher the tier, the more GP your esk will need to spend to create the resulting esk.

For example, a common transformation tier requires a 50GP and means the esk can only have common markings and a single nature feature.

A spirited tier transformation means it requires 100GP and the esk can have up to 5 uncommon traits and two nature features.

Wellspring wishes (are free and do neither require a tf slot nor GP) usually fall under the spirit tier!

All the other tiers are listed here:

Would it be okay to make minor changes like adding a few more leaves or minorly changing the shape of the nature feature without using the energy exchange or do I still need to use it?

m-idlifecrisis's avatar
Question: if I wasn't pleased with how my esk looks but I still had it's original color palette the starter came from, would I be able to change the design up?
KaijuRomance's avatar
If your esk's design has already been approved and added to the masterlist, changes to its design can only be done via the Energy Exchange system.

You can see all the available changes and their cost here:

Oooh thank you so much! It's been awhile since I was active in this group, so I just wanted to make sure if it was ok. ^^
Beryluma's avatar
What ways are there to obtain a abnormal Transformation?
nybird's avatar
Abnormal transformations are unlocked once you reach Nature Spirit level (4000 AP). From this point onwards, any additional transformation slots you unlock can be used to create abnormal esk.
Aside from that, some players do trades or giveaways for abnormal slots, we have a gallery folder specifically for when players are raffling or swapping TFs, which can be seen here: www.deviantart.com/thosewhowen…
You can also wish for an abormal transformation slot via the wellsprings: The Wellsprings

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions :>
Beryluma's avatar
Thx! ^^

another question; if you change the colour placement on your Esk in Energy Exchange to one colour being about 50% of the Esk does that make it a trait or keep it as just a pattern change?
nybird's avatar
There's a few factors to take into account for something like this, if it's a soft gradient colour (that isn't bright) then it would generally be considered just a common marking. Markings with hard edges, bright colours, or markings that resemble spots or stripes would all require an additional trait. These are all assessed on a case-by-case basis when you submit your design to the Energy Exchange for approval :>
Beryluma's avatar
Ok ^^ thanks fo your time ^^

Not quite sure where to ask this... but crafts go, for the gallery, into which folder...? Thanks in advance!

into the artworks folder c:

okay, thank you!

(Not sure where to ask) For the starter MYO ref sheet does it have to be digital? Also how close do the colors have to be to the assigned palette? /as a traditional artist I'm a bit worried about color accuracy
Caliki's avatar
Hello xiaoyao8!

Drawing your Masterlist Reference traditionally is absolutely okay! Here's an example of a ML image that was drawing with watercolor pencils:  1501 by Esk-Masterlist

Just make sure to either scan your work or take a very well lit photo so the colors can be seen well c: The colors dont have to be super exact on traditional work, but you should still try to get them close to the palette~
Gritty-Gritter's avatar
ooooh okay, Thanks!

Why are there so many rules? Its intimidating... What is TWWM? Is this from a book?
And why is it called an esk? I tried to look it up but found nothing.
vlpn's avatar
Hello!

We apologize if the initial amount of information is overwhelming;
Those Who Went Missing is a group based around ghosts that come from souls who have been "lost," whether it's physically or mentally.  Esk is the just the name the creator, Witherlings, decided to call the ghosts.
If you want some help or further explaining, we have a group discord, the link is in the fourth section above.  The community is extremely welcoming to newcomers and always happy to help new members. You can also note me or message me on discord (vlpn#1533) if you'd like help :)

Haven't joined, but I'm curious:
Can Sea Sparkles (Marine microbes that flash when disturbed) be used as a Nature Feature, and how would they be depicted? Little visible clear-ish orbs with tendrils attached to the Esk or a colony of invisible specks?
KaijuRomance's avatar
Hello!
Sea sparkles can be used as a nf! Depiction is up to you and how you'd think it could work best. It could be a blue glow on your esk with small glitter flecks or be a shimmer in your esk's fur, for example.
You can always note us a design concept and we'd look over it with you to make sure your idea would work!
Hope that helps and if you have any other questions let us know c:
