Open Membership
Our first step in making the group interactive was to welcome the community into the group instead of just letting them watching. The membership settings have been changed to automatically accept join requests now. All you have to do is this the "Join Group" button and you're in.
Why join? Well, it comes with
Member-Submitted Journals
Now you can submit your literature community news directly to our journal! We're super excited about this because it allows us to streamline our news. Time-sensitive activities are less likely to fall through the cracks, and deviants will have to click through less stuff to find your news. Your article will go directly to watcher and member inboxes allowing them to see the headline and description.
To avoid flooding and inappropriate posts, we have implemented a staff approval system. Read through the details and instructions in our Submit Your News post.
Deviant-Hosted Chat Events
We've always encouraged the community to come hang out in our chatroom. It's a great place to meet and socialize with other literature community members. Now we're taking that a step further and opening the room for deviant-hosted events.
That means you, yes you, can take over our chatroom and run an event! This can be nearly any type of literature community event including writing events, social events, games, and more. You can invite your group, friends, and the rest of the lit community to attend. And even those outside the lit community!
Like the journals, we have an approval process in place to avoid issues. You can read through the details and instructions in our Host a Chat Event post.
Art History
We are participating in the ArtHistoryProject!
A Little About ArtHistoryProject
ArtHistoryProject is a CR-led initiative to educate artists further into understanding the history and context of the art they make. For literature, this proves to be very exciting because of the wide range of topics and forms that can be discussed.
Topics such as:
If you'd like to help with the literature portion of art history, please send us a group note!
New Staff
Welcome our new group staff:
We've recently invited these awesome deviants to the backroom. They're wonderful, active community supporters and we think they are a good representation of the lit community. Since they'll be approving submitted news from you guys, we thought they'd be perfect.
Say hello to our chat staff:
If you've been in the CRLit chatroom, you're probably familiar with our chatroom staff already. If not, we encourage you to stop in and say hello! Our chatroom staff members are friendly and knowledgeable community leaders.
Your Input
We heartily welcome suggestions and community input! You've probably noticed the increase in discussion journals and polls, and we intend to continue these regularly. Please make yourself heard and help us better serve the community by joining us in these community discussions.
