Description
Oh yeah, I'm at it again! I've been invited by a local business to hang a couple of works to show what I can do. This place gets a lot of young women through, all of whom seem dead gone on Robert Pattinson, Edward Cullin and all things Twilight! I can't seem to get away from this guy!!!
Anyway. On the up side, drawing him is getting faster and easier. . . and I think this one has turned out the best so far, so - all in all - I guess it's worth the effort. Right?
This is my first attempt at a portrait on Bristol paper (A3). As a work surface I like it because it allows for strong photorealism - very smooth, clean finish. Unfortunately it doesn't take the darks as well as a paper with more tooth though, and that's irritating 'cause I'm a dark darks fiend (Deep shadows and blacks cover a multitude of drawing sins!)
The eyes are Faber-Castrell Polychromos, the rest is graphite: F, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B pencils and 9B graphite stick.
I'd love to hear people's feedback on this too!
