Laylow's Claw

Laylow's Claw, finally finished! From the novel Twilight Robbery by Frances Hardinge, Soviet/Cold war inspired style.

The arm and hand plates are fibreglass with an aluminium gelcoat, all the moving parts and the claws are aluminium, the cladding on the sides of the fingers are laser cut acrylic.

The arm wearing it was grown by Bluelioness.

I'm not sure if the Soviet/Cold War style really fits in with Twilight Robbery (US Title: Fly Trap, and a darn good read whatever it's called, I'd highly recommend both it and 'Fly by Night' as well.)  But it's a very impressive piece.  I also think that the built in compass is a very nice touch.
