Today is the day I learned I can only upload MAP parts to youtube.
My emotions right now could be described subtly as

i understand the video is too big for the screen, but the viewer can just zoom the screen out to where they can see the whole video. ^.^''
a lot of deviants post animations that are too large to see but i just zoom out and look at them..

I animate in Flash, and the only way of uploading video to deviantArt is using SWFs. Which wouldn't be a problem normally, except that to make MAP parts I need to up the quality greatly of the video. In order to do so, I need to make the canvas really really big, bigger than can fit on one screen when at 100% view, not even my big cintiq screen.

So why don't I just resize it afterwards so I can upload it to deviantArt? You can't resize SWFs. The only way to resize them is by resizing each part of the animation manually, and that doesn't work either because I use a tool in Flash which retains it's size, so if I resize the image, the lines stay the same thickness, and you can't tell what is happening because the lines are so thick and can't be made thinner.

It's basically a worst case scenario where no matter what I do there is no way of fixing it, not even the horrible manual way works. I have to either decide whether I'm animating something to upload to deviantArt or something to upload to youtube. Either that, or I sacrifice a huge amount of image quality on the youtube one, which many MAP creators don't allow as they require high quality video (and I understand why).

There is no solution, but god do I wish there was, with my heart and soul, my fucking essence, but nope. Apparently not. I have no idea how to find a work around. And the worst part is that with my stubborn determined personality I'll probably keep trying to find a way to do it for ages even though I know I won't find anything. I'll waste so much time, and so many opportunities OTL Ughhhh, why this...
