EDIT - BACKGROUND INFO: The result of a science experiment a long time ago, where cloning genes for a human, bird, some reptile, and unidentifiable species mixed accidentally. The resultant species was kept to see how they would develop and grow, and once 'born', they were raised until young adults in the laboratory. However, once they reached this rebellious age, they became impatient and didn't like being held captive, and found a way to escape. Since then, they have grown their own societies high up in the mountains, where they've developed and evolved quickly due to early mutation brought on by the accidental gene mixing (these easy mutations also allow things that wouldn't normally be considered normal to grow on the species at random once born. There is wide variation of what could occur, though the mutated genes are hard to pass on to further generations as they are usually recessive). They have strong limbs, all of which have opposable digits, and are skilled climbers. Their strong lungs allow them to breath well in high altitudes where there's only thin air, however their huge lungs have resulted in their hearts being pushed out to the front of their chests. Gem like protrusions sprout from random areas on their bodies, however they will always have a gem covering the heart. The heart gem is covered by the organic feathery hood at the front, and though they are mostly very docile and friendly creatures, they defend the gem fiercely. Nowadays, Plumadra are known as little more than myths - only those who have climbed the highest mountains and are very observant have ever really spotted them. ______
Remember a while ago I said I might try out making a humanoid species? Well I guess this is my attempt at it, haha TTvTT still experimenting though, nothing here is exactly final (many things will probably stay the same though, I like how it looks). Not sure what rules I'm going to use in terms of creation yet either, as in, whether I'm gonna allow their physical designs to be messed with a lot, kind of like how Lantern Dragons can vary so much? I just like the idea of not having to stick to a specific set of rules, and be able to change up small things yourself. Kind of like a fan character or an actual animal character, if you wanted to add things like spikes growing out of certain areas like the back or give them bigger ears for example then you can, but maybe I'll keep some things off limits like large wings? We'll see, haha >v<
Excuse messy anatomy, sketching in flash is hard. Will probably make something neater soon TTvTT
