Hello there everyone! First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who still sticks around to see any pieces I publish on here from time to time. Lately though, it's been a bit slow, yes? Well, that's because I now have a full time job. The only time for full day free time are holidays and weekends. And with Christmas now over and gone for the year, I can start slowly work on pieces again to share with you all, as well as list in my Etsy store. I promise I have not stopped thinking about crochet and I will keep posting on here. Expect to see some new stuff soon and within 2016!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and have a happy New Year!

FAQ

Hello there and welcome to my profile page! Even if it's just for a split second or two, I still thank you for stopping by and checking things out around here. My name is Lee Anne, also go by theyarnbunny, and I consider myself still a newbie with artisan crafts. I only got into it when I started working at my previous (and first ever) job. It all started with wanting to learn how to crochet once I was interested in arts and crafts, which is my strongest suit so far in arts and crafts. And I really do enjoy it! I'm currently unemployed and hope to get at least something from what I make and sell.

Below I will break down more about me in an FAQ style.

How did you learn to crochet?
Youtube. No, seriously, I just looked up "learn how to crochet" and just started watching videos.

What yarns do you use the most?
Vanna's Choice, Sugar and Cream / Peaches and Cream, Simply Soft, Hometown USA, Red Heart Sashay, Herrschners Sundance Frill, Red Heart Super Saver, and I Love This Cotton.

Where did the name "theyarnbunny" come from?
With the help of another user and friend from dA, I threw some names at her that I wanted to actually change my previous name to. My previous name? yarn-hooker. I was thinking - at the time - of doing craft fairs (which I've finally done my first one) and I wanted a more "family friendly" kind of name. This was one that I had written down on a list of possible name changes and both my friend and I agreed this one sounded the best (and cutest).

Do you write your own patterns?
So far, I have only written out two patterns. The first one was for a very basic beanie hat and the second one is the pattern I use to make my bunnies with. I've used the bunny pattern before for a few other animals to look like the same round, chibi, and chubby style as well, but it's a pattern mostly for my bunnies. A lot of the other things I've crocheted are usually from free patterns you can find online just from doing a Google search. And I do credit every single artisan crafter that I use their pattern to crochet a product from or am influenced by.

Do you have any advice for people starting out?
Just keep practicing and never give up crocheting if you enjoy it. We all start somewhere and not all of our creations come out looking super duper amazing on the first try. So don't feel discouraged at all if you don't like how your first piece comes out, because a lot of us have been in that same boat once before.

I really liked one of your pieces! Can I make something similar to it?
For an answer to this question, I would like you to come to me and tell me which piece you got inspiration from and ask if you can use it as a reference before doing it. I will also ask for credit and a link back to my profile and original piece in return.

How do you feel about art theft in the artisan craft community?
I take it as seriously as art theft of any other kind. I was a victim of art theft over on my photography account, where a girl took one of my photos, photoshopped out my logo, and put her own in it and passed it off as her own. And now a days, I'm seeing people not crediting original artisans properly for THEIR patterns / designs and it bothers me greatly. I tend to make sure people are aware whenever I see this happen, to let them know who the original creator is so that person can get the kudos they rightfully deserve.
