Whispers
Stalking in the shadows
The lights behind the eyes
Whirling in the winds
Where the wolf cries
The lights dance in the sky
Wavering down to earth
No heat, no warmth
Some with fear, some with mirth
Can you hear them howling
Just beyond the veil
The curtain parts just a little
Revealing nothing there
Is it just a dream
The voices in the wind
Or is it really something
That will be again

Martha Nussbaum: The Rock Star Philosopher-Essay
Martha Nussbaum The Rockstar Philosopher Martha Nussbaum is what Newsweek called the closest thing to a Rockstar that philosophy has (Burleigh). Martha Nussbaum is a moral philosopher and law professor at the University of Chicago and is very outspoken about her findings in the field of Justice. This essay will focus on three capabilities in order to show the reader how the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) misinforms the United States population regarding nutrition facts, furthermore, a basic understanding of Nussbaum’s Capabilities will be included in order to further explain how it is possible to improve daily nutrition to benefit oneself. Nussbaum’s theory includes ten Capabilities that she credits as to what we need to achieve to be a fully human life (Nussbaum). The full list of Capabilities and their meanings are explained in the appendix. Briefly, they all focus on human life and how people should live in order to have a fulling and productive life. Time's Up Trump
So this is the end
Your presidency has expired
Smelling like a pile of fertilizer!
Taking the rights of everyone!
And lies you mask to sound true
Just to save your toasted behind!
Your lies keep burying you
Deeper and deeper into that hole
Until you meet Satan in Hell
Who'll be happy to take your soul!
Crisp it until its nothing, but ash!
Because that's where you belong!
Hiding the truth from the masses!
As you watch us all fight for survival!
The lives of millions struck by the plague
Their blood is on your hands
You silly, pig-headed fool!
And if a question puts you in a rut!
You always make up something quick

Losing you
Your words are the flight of seven ravens
That sing a sad melody in the depths of my mouth.
Your love turned into a cave full of dead livers.
And the universe seems so unfair around
While you paint in red my silent heaven.
Oh, princess, princess of my sixty moons
What did I do to deserve your rage?
What did I say that killed your smile?
What should I do when you leave?
Why do the butterflies sleep in my soul?
Tell me, tell me, please.
Is the sun able to freeze the sea?
Is the war the sweat of your heart?
Is the ocean full of my blood?
The tree of your life fed my hands
And you were to me like a fruit,
A delicious dream that caressed my lips

A blind love
A pure heart

And I'm without you
but you're with me.
A big sun above my head
and my eyes can't see.
Let me imagine the shape of your cheeks.
Let me imagine the colour of your teeth.
Show me how I can live in a world without rainbow.
Teach me how to love something I don't know.
Just my hands stroking your forehead
and my fingers touching your lips can tell me about you.
Your hair is so soft,
it feels like the water of the sea kissing my legs.
There is no day or night to me,
Everything is just ...grey?
Only the sound of your voice

I love you
I love you.
From the imperfection of my soul
I love you.
From my lack of meaningful words
I love you.
From my weakness and failures
I love you.
From my lazyness and in my busy days
I love you.
Sometimes it's hard to say these words
And sometimes, so easy.
I wish I could be in your pocket.
I wish I was part of your skin.
I wish I could live on your lips
But my heart is that silly
Or maybe not,
Maybe I'm not as smart as I thought
Or maybe I'm worse than I am.
I love you even if I don't know how,
Even if I like a pleiad of nymphs,
Even if I touched other hearts,
Even if I'm yours only at nights.
You can judge my arms,
You can reject my ways,

I Love You
I would write you a thousand different poems,
but only a few words really matter,
and perhaps they've been said enough,
that they are no longer special.
But still I would write them for you,
simple though they may be,
because it is these three simple words,
that display everything you mean to me...
Literature
Not Anymore Though...
You didn't need to stand up and tell me I wasn't good enough,
because your actions confirmed it all the same.
I'm sorry that the words I spoke were never real enough,
maybe that's why you never thought twice about causing me pain.
But if it is my fate for you to hurt me,
then I guess I'll take it well enough.
Because you always thought of me as a toy and a puppet,
But I thought of you as the one that I loved.

Same Soul
Sometimes fewer words mean more:
We've both lived a thousand lives,
and passed each other a thousand times.
But in every single instance darling,
my stare at you has stayed the same.
So forgive me for wavering,
and for any delay I caused.
I had to check every pair of eyes you see,
to find the same ones in which I got lost.

Lies
It's the soft fall of lies
at first light
come forth to greet you -
words that enter the window
and promise
to never leave .
They make holes
in the dawn
and stir the sheets so gently
you can smell
morning cling to his back
like summer;
and you believe
that his body
can blot out
the cold.
His mouth
dresses your hopes,
those small shapes
petal wept
like mysteries;
and his kisses
so blinding
you don't know
where you begin
or how
to open the door.
So you plead mercy
and let his hands
do the walking,
wishing the day
would fade into the walls -
and that his whispers
could breathe
just like the life
left sleeping

Monday
Did you wake up
one morning and decide
your name was Monday?
Did you lay out slip and stockings
and decide that pretty
was really underneath,
and that your face alone
would buy you nothing?
Did you think
of the men staring
on the bus
and in the elevators
as the car moved up the girders
so high your skirt
was a balloon?
And did the brush of
his sleeve
against your breast
as the crowd moved forward
stop your boots
from crossing the street
and send you into traffic
wanting to feel his name?

Tattoo
I feel a strange
tattoo this evening
what you call blue
and ink
and no one else
can translate into winter -
the soft pucker of veins
swelling under cotton;
the sway of red
and green
glossing your hip,
moving in a silent story
in a shadow left
by books, by candles
flickering
turning the dying light
into poetry.

I believe the 5-7-5 syllable structure is called haiku--even though haiku are usually associated with nature, modern poetry usually accepts any content in 5-7-5 syllable/3 line pattern as haiku. Just for future reference
Anyhow, really nice poem!
