Nightmute and Mephiles

Just two creeps staring at you from the void. Nothing too strange.

In my AU, both Nightmute and Mephiles are demonic entities who serve their master, Wolfbane. Nightmute has a one-track mind: do anything and everything the master commands. He is emotionless and has very little sense of agency. In contrast, Mephiles has a higher thinking and ambitions of his own, which led to the events of Sonic 2006. When Mephiles was sealed inside the Scepter of Darkness, Wolfbane sent Nightmute to retrieve it and bring it back to the Nether Realm (Hell). There, Mephiles was released once again. Weakened by the events of Sonic 2006, Mephiles now does his master's bidding, waiting for the day that he will regain his strength and break free from his slavery.
