Description

Oil on canvas 100 cm by 70 cm
This is a second piece inspired by my travel to India. I wanted to get the cultural aspects of the hand printed fabric as much as the emotion. Familial attachments are usually the strongest even if they skip a generation.  In a time of turmoil, or perhaps even pain these grow stronger. As with most of my paintings there is a story behind this one, and a story in the eyes. But it is up to the mind of the viewer to discern it.  This was an indirect painting done in layers. The process video is in my journal.

Amazing work on the fabric, and her expression - is it anger, is it sadness?  An intriguing mix of the two!  Nicely done, and certainly hits your aim of letting the viewer interpret it :D
