just something to show i'm not dead... but yeah, my mind hasn't been very sane lately and i'm struggling to make sense of what has been going through it. This was a 15 minute doodle i did without thinking about the context, I figured i'd stop here... only an hour before work, don't need these kinds of thoughts in my head right now y'know? This is one of the variations of Draconis, a monster from the planet Kyro II, which resides en-mass to the southern border of Höllentor. This creature is the embodiment of pain and suffering. Born from the sludge of bodies decomposing over the decades and brought to life when crystals imbued with alchemical compounds and elemental magics comes into contact with that sludge. There are four variations to Draconis beings.
Resid - a sludge-like creature that slowly moves as a fluid-like substance. once large enough they become a spawning pit for later variations.
Dracot (shown above) partially rotted and covered in Resid, these creatures are bipedal and capable of very clumsy swings. Their bodies are made from the corpses dragged into the Resid spawning pit, usually by others of their kind. Weapons and armor are melted to the skin like make-shift armor, or are visibly sticking out from where the individual prior to becoming Dracot was killed.
Draconis - The combat variant and main bulk of the creature. These beasts are practically jet-black. Hardened Resid covers their bodies like scales, hence the name. Their soul-less eyes nothing more than pin-pricks of energy of a hungry degenerating beast.
"Nest" - These flying hulks of Resid rain black sludge across vast reaches of land, creating new spawn pits and collecting bodies across the wasteland. They are formed when a large Resid spawning pit begins to heat up, whether from shear size or outside influence. They then rise into the air like a giant bubble, congealing into a flakey-like substance far above the cloud cover. There they will hang for years, hardening and condensing into heavier skin-like substance before following air-currents. They slowly descend, until finally collapsing to the ground in a torrential flood of ooze and Draconis spawns.
This is how they form.... and this is how they engulf entire worlds... and how the kingdom of Höllentor got its name...
"Hell's Gate". A bastion kingdom defending from the hellspawns themselves.
