James dodged to the side, keeping his weight balanced carefully on his toes as he leaned backwards to avoid the next punch. The specialized gloves on his hands let out a slow whine, growling their readiness as the crowd roared in the background. He ignored both of them, jabbing outward at his opponent's left side. He waited for the moment when the man dodged before pulling back and striking with the other, eyes wide in satisfaction when his fist smashed into the others abdomen, the skin rippling as it caved inward.
His grin slipped as he felt a fist crash into his cheek, the shock of impact pushing him back a little as his face began to burn. He closed his eyes as his vision blurred, letting the discomfort pass through him as his face shifted before blinking them open again.
He could see better now, he decided, gently feeling across his face with his glove to make sure no damage had been done. The buffers were supposed to stop actual impact beyond the transformation, but accidents happ
