Moon snail poem

Moon snail (Polinices sordidus) is a predatory gastropod that feeds on bivalves e.g. clams by drilling holes into their shells. They leave characteristic jelly-like masses (often confused for jellyfish remains) on Australian beaches that hold thousands of their eggs that hatch sequentially and gnaw their way out.

I wrote a poem to describe the species alongside drawings and photos that I took at Nudgee beach, Queensland.
