Classic videogames cushion

This is my masterpiece until now. I made it for my boyfriend, who is really keen on videogames, after he had been asking me time and time again for a picture of a classic videogame, cause he finds cross-stitch very similar to pixel art. At the end he managed to convince me and I decided to try mixing some videogame characters within a cushion. After thinking about it and working hard for a long time, this was the result. I said "working hard" cause, despite I found some patterns on the Internet (for example, the one for Kirby or Pacman), I had to do the most of them by myself looking at images from the games.

Great Idea! I might try that someday....When I have a shop selling thread closer to home... Anyway, you did a really good job ^^.

Yes, you should try. Cross-stitch is very relaxing. And you can always buy the thread online ;)

I already do cross-stitching, but with a larger design. A project with many small designs needs more different colours, so more different threads. And when you live on a small island, the shipping usually cost a lot. So, for now, I'm going to stick to big designs, but when I go for University it will be easier, so I will probably do projects like this. :)

Actually I haven't used many colours for this cushion. If you have a deep look at it, you'll see that most of the pictures have just a few basic colours that are used for almost all of them. I'd say that Sonic and Frog are the only ones who have colours not used in other characters ;)

That's a great idea to display all of the little sprite pictures on a cushion like that. Nice choice of sprites too, I particularly like the Bubble Bobble one. :)

Thank you! I was thinking for a long time till I came to this idea.

Your gallery is quite cool too, I'll have a look at it regularly ;)

It's cool that it's practical and decorative at the same time, I always think it's nice when you can make something like that. It makes a nice change from putting stitched stuff in frames too. :)

Thanks very much. :)

Yes, I totally agree with you. I was quite bored of putting my sprites into frames, so I though it would be great to make something useful this time ^^

It is! Did you sew the pillow yourself or did you buy a pillow to stitch?

Yes, I made it all by myself. I first embroidered the pictures separately and then I sewed the pieces of fabric together with the blue ones.

Don't worry about your English, I'm from Spain, so maybe I also make mistakes sometimes.
