Description
Favorite Character: Meowth, that's right! Well, I love all of Team Rocket on their best days, but Meowth's the one who frequently displays the most characterization, the most humor, and the most depth. Plus he had great voices in the 4Kids dub and a great Japanese voice too!
Despised Character(s): Paul from "Diamond And Pearl" and Cameron from "Best Wishes" tie for this status. One is a Jerk Sue, Creator's Pet, and Karma Houdini to the extreme despite being a raging Pokemon abuser and all around unpleasant shitstain of a human being towards other living creatures, and the other is an Anti Sue and Idiot Houdini who should have missed out on his big chances to shine several times over but the universe bent over backwards in order to advance his trainer career (to the point where he brought only 5 Pokemon to a 6-on-6 battle in a League tournament in front of a crowded stadium AND YET DIDN'T GET DISQUALIFIED, and was in fact REWARDED by staying in the battle long enough for his Riolu to evolve and knock Ash out of the League! WHAT?)
Favorite Series: The original series edges out as my favorite, but particularly the first saga called Indigo League in the US. That's when things were at their freshest and most fun.
Despised Series: "Diamond And Pearl", hands down. It was actually a tough choice between that and "XY", but "XY" has more a little bit more redeeming value mainly in the "Z" season. The Gen IV series was the antithesis of the anime as originally conceived by Takeshi Shudo in just about every way and I did not enjoy it in the slightest. I liked some of the characters (Zoey, Conway, Barry, Ursula, etc.) and a few episodes here and there, but that's it.
Most Overrated Character: ASH KETCHUM (post Hoenn saga). ESPECIALLY in the XY series! As bland as he got in DP, he was at least a legit good trainer who faced adversity and overcame obstacles through skill and hard work (he would have rightfully won the Sinnoh League had Tobias not been a big fat cheater), and as stupid as he got in BW, he at least had some semblance of character in his interactions with others and could be heroic too. In XY, he's a nigh infallible Black Hole Sue who gets glorified at every turn, gets his ass kissed by others, causes character's entire motivations to change (hell-o, Alan!), has his spirit merge with a Pokemon, and whose moments of "drama" like the whole business with Ash-Greninja are incredibly forced. And yet the fandumb falls for his "awesomeness" and can't seem to get enough of him even though he's a freaking boring character who's victim to some piss poor writing. I just don't get it.
Most Underrated Character: Casey! I thought about saying Iris, but she does have a sizable fanbase in addition to her vocal hatedumb. A lot of people seem to forget about Casey and those who do remember her undermine her potential as a character and trainer, or worse hate on her and find her annoying! Poor girl doesn't warrant any of that if you ask me!
Favorite Villain: Giovanni, boss of Team Rocket. He's sort of THE villain in the anime, though only the original series and "Best Wishes" actually used him as the Big Bad. I just find him awesome at being a ruthless and diabolical evil mastermind, he's a lot more efficient than most villains on the show (he captured Ash and Pikachu in A SINGLE EPISODE while his three henchmen had spent several episodes, six sagas, and three series' trying to do just that), and he's so darn fascinating to speculate on and think about.
Despised Villain: Grings Kodai from the 13th movie. You're supposed to despise him and that's mostly what makes him such an effective villain, but they might have done the job a bit TOO well, especially in the last third of the film where he strangles Celebi for more power, puts all natural life in the area at risk, threatens children and Pokemon with violence and torture, and temporarily kills Zoroark! That is just despicable to over-the-top degrees.
Favorite Movie: "Spell Of The Unown." There's just nothing wrong with this film. It's the best "Pokemon" movie and a great animated movie, period.
Despised Movie: "Arceus And The Jewel Of Life." I could not for the life of me make sense of the plot, the villain was bland as heck, I was so sick of the Gen IV legendaries hogging so much spotlight, and good lord was Arceus' dub voice ANNOYING!
Favorite Episode: Episodes 15, 16, and 17 of the original series hold a special place in my heart, with the last of them, "Island Of The Giant Pokemon", standing out in particular. They don't make 'em like they used to!
Despised Episode: The two episodes covering the Ash VS Paul 6 on 6 battle at Lake Acuity, and the one following it too. This is where it became painfully clear that Paul was a Jerk Sue and the Creator's Pet - after having suffered a crushing defeat by Brandon, his luck gets turned around and he delivers a crushing defeat to Ash without even giving any fucks, like the universe itself coddled him from suffering any consequences for his behavior and actions, validating his training methods so that he doesn't have to have any self-doubt like Silver from GSC. If that wasn't enough, the following episode showcased just how butchered Ash, Dawn, Brock, and Team Rocket had become by this point. It was freaking painful.

I really don't find ash boring, and he wasn't always flawless through xy. And honestly, if he were a "black hole sue" he would've won the league.
