Second Dog Sketch! by TheRebelWithNoCause Second Dog Sketch! by TheRebelWithNoCause
My second dog sketch, which is of my puppy Skunky :D I think her nose is a little too slim.. But, I tried to work on the shading. Hopefully, I did an alright job doing some natural shading. Feedback?!

Another great sketch. The snout looks fine, but perhaps if it was a little shorter or maybe a little wider would have made it spot on. Another great expression in the eyes. This one seems like she's paying a lot attention to you, like she's listening to commands or about to get a treat. Perhaps both, lol. Did a great job on shading, even if it didn't scan well. And I would also like to mention you did a good job on her nose. Great detail for still being so new to sketching. Kudos!

Thanks! Her sister looks more like a lab, but she looks a lot like a German Shepherd. So, she has a longer snout, but I do believe I didn't make it wide enough. I'm not done with it yet, so I will work on it. I just wanted to post it to get some feedback on my work so far, before I move onto more detail and what not.

Don't stress on it to much. It's a great piece and a great learning piece. I'm afraid you'll ruin it if you try and fix it to much. Perhaps more shading work. It's hard to tell since its a scan. Lol

I was just going to work on widening the snout a little. I was going to add fur and all that to it, or attempt to.

That would stink. I was planning on painting this, but I'm not sure yet. I'm an even worse painter, so I may not want to risk ruining this sketch by painting.

To bad you don't have like a light tracer. Then you could make a copy sketch real easy to try painting it without risking the orginal

I actually thought about printing a copy of the sketch out and doing a painting with the copy. That way, I can practice getting the paint right.

I think this is a good job for your second sketch :) The nose looks fine, and your shading is good ^^ Just try to darken up some of the places and keep practicing.

Thanks! The shading looks different on the actual sketch. It didn't scan the greatest.
