Horse Sketch by TheRebelWithNoCause Horse Sketch by TheRebelWithNoCause
I realize this horse is very cockeyed.. I started off drawing with my paper straightened, and then tilted it to get the most comfortable angle and the thing never recovered lol Plus, I'm dumb and started drawing too far over, so the rest of its nose is off the page..

Clearly, I'm still working on learning to draw, period. But, also working on learning how to shade..

I think this is another great learning piece Hun, and the shading is beautiful! I can tell there is muscles and form to this horse. Seems like he/she can use some extra grain feed. lol

I will critic the eyes a little, they are to far "back". The jaw shouldn't start straight under em, it would be behind em.... if that makes sense. I'm guessing haveing to work with shrinking work space might have distracted you at this point in drawling.

But even Leonardo started out sketching years before he painted the Mona Lisa. So don't give up and just keep learning and doing your best! >^^<

The picture is of a specific breed of horse. I really liked it because they were more slender and seemed less bulky. It's called a Paso Fino. That is actually how slim the horse was in my reference picture lol

The eyes were bugging the hell out of me! I erased it at least five times before I just settled with the one I have drawn now. I just kind of gave up, because it wasn't going to look the best with the position it was on the paper. I will more than likely do another sketch of the same horse today.

I think I'm doing fairly well, considering I've never drawn before. I've done searches for horses on here, and found some by people who have LOTS of drawn deviations, and theirs are far worse. Though, most people do best when drawing a specific type of "model" or whatever. So, it's nothing against that artist.

I think you are doing amazing well! besides the eyes everythang seemed proportioned very well and the shading was nicely done! >^^< So don't beat your self up, just keep at it!

And sorry it took me so long to respond... been only checking DA on my cell till just now ;p

That's kind of funny. I just became friends with someone that has a Tennessee Walker. Yeah, I really have to work on eyes, both shape and positioning.

It's alright :D I don't expect people to respond immediately!

I love the those horses! My grandpa use to have a pair for the wagon and I would always sneak one of em out of the barn and go riding bareback for a few hours... walking was sometimes a little tough afterwards though. lmao!

Lucky! I've only gotten to ride a horse once, and it was through the hilly ass woods. I was terrified, plus it was rather uncomfortable lol I would love to do it again. One day in the far away future, I hope to own a farm/ranch where I can have a horse.

Riding bare back isn't the most comfy either.. I just couldn't get a sadle on the horse by myself. lmao! So i would put the bridle and bit in and we would go for a run! Its been like 14+ years since I've been on a horse. I would love to ride again

And I was lucky about that. but we are all lucky in some ways, and unlucky in others. ;p
