Hi everyone,


After several years of hard work, we present to you Krita 5.0!


This release has a ton of new features, here's a short list:


  • The way Krita handles things like brushes, gradients and palettes, as well as tagging, has been completely revamped. The new system is much faster, uses much less memory and is much more dependable!

  • Gradients have been improved: they are far smoother and can handle wider gamuts.

  • The smudge brush engine has been completely rewritten, and we’ve got a new brush engine, based on MyPaint

  • The Animation system has been overhauled, with both user interface improvements and new features, such as clone frames and animated transform masks

  • Krita now has a built-in storyboard editor!

  • There’s a recorder to create a video out of your painting sessions

  • And way, way, more.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad the gradient part has been updated to look smoother. The perspective assistant looks amazing. New bundle manager is cool. I like that the brush settings icon has changed a bit because I kept clicking there when I want to change brushes. x'D

I'm having issues with the recording because I don't have the FFmpeg, but I hope I can find the source code or something. Not too good with these things, but I'll rummage through, see what I can do. ^^;


Also, why does this happen? (if anyone else knows, feel free to reply)

Krita Error

I'm using Win7 (64-bit). I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but it still happens. Krita is still able to run after I click OK or 'X', but it's kinda worrying...
