Contest Entry: Beasts at the Lunar Festival

Here, I used her design of Sonic The Werehog (tought, I gived him a traditional ourtfit to combine with the festival-theme... Does that mean that i'm discalified...? I hope not...), and the theme of this drawing it's the chinese lunar new year (specially: Year of the Dragon) with some Werebeasts in a fake screenshot-format! 

Here, Sonic and Whisper are enjoying their own time at the festival... Tought, Whisper asks Sonic if it's a good idea that those "beasts" are allowed in a serious festival like this... In the festival's background, Jibanyan is riding Mei Lee's Panda form like if he was a knight in his horse in order to "raid" the most near Choco-bar stand... Tought, Chip feels worried since it doesn't sound like a good idea... There are other things, like the Wererabbit playing with Snapdragon (and Roxanne being overloaded of their cuteness), whereas Shiver and Big Man watch in confusion... And Starfy is sleeping... Even if Whisper feels embarrased of their presence, Sonic sees it as funny and nice at the same time... Since in his own words: The festival is for everyone, and that means that even these "beasts" can enjoy their time here, aferall: Lunar Festivals are meant to unite all families and friends in one place to celebrate the union and the moon; just like Werebeasts themselves!  

This drawing, appart to have took me a half-month to complete it, it has many meanings... You see, the reason of why Sonic is with Whisper not only isn't because they're contraries, but it's because they share the same VA in japanese (Tomokazu Seki if you ask), so I tought putting them both talking could be a funny coincidence xd ... The reason that this drawing takes place in a Lunar Festival comes because 1: I always relate the Werehog with Chun-nan or chinese culture because of many fanarts of him in those stages, 2: Because these festivals represent union and family, much like the Werehog or other friendly Werebeasts, and 3: Since i'm in a Yo-kai Watch-mood lately, I tought that making a reference from Bony Spirits' japanese intro xd ...
Other characters here are also references; the reason why Jibanyan and Chip are together it's because I used to compare them when I was young (I tought their designs were similar: red fur, white muzzle, cyan collar...), Mei technically is here since she's chinese and also a Werebeast... The reason of why the Wererabbit it's playing with Snapdragon not only comes from a promise that I did to draw them, but because of symbolism; You see, past year was the Year of the Rabbit, and now we're in the Year of the Dragon, and since they both are friendly monsters, and the Wererabbit it's older (Wallace has atleast 62 years old) and Snapdragon is younger (they're a baby), this symbolism hits all marks...! (and because they're adorable together, that's why Roxie is cutesy over them). Other characters are here just for making the festival look alive...
