Wwwhich I am, lamentably, not a part of, I was passed over. Oh, well.
'Thicker than Water' got a rave review, but it was always going to be a long shot, because of it's a genre story telling, a Western set in a Post-Apocalyptic setting; so I honestly just consider this a case of "selection, not rejection".
I can't say it's not...disappointing, but it honestly just makes me want to hunt for beta readers more, so I can polish what needs polishing and present the movie through a comic publisher, like Vertigo or Dark Horse, or as a Webtoon.
Mea Culpa Time
I started preproduction for my Youtube channel was far back as 2023....it's 2026, and I'm still grinding away, trying to get the legacy assets done so I can learn Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Premiere, and wwwhatever recording software I need to learn (enough) to edit and nest my audio. (I mean, I'm not that bothered by the prospect of having to get a white belt in these other programs, because, at one point, I was commercially certified to use the software reserved for feature length film production; so, absolutely: I have the chops to learn a much more user-friendly variation of the same software, enough to do a Youtube show.) I'm honestly not bothered about that---what bothers me is time...! How much of it has elapsed since I started this goddamn project.
I know I could get the channel ready and launched by July this year, I know I could; if I could just knuckle down and do the work, but, it's just...why is being consistently productive such a hard ask!? Why can't I just

When September bolted headfirst into October, with me with no party plans for my favorite time of year, I yanked the emergency brake on my channel's production and focused on trying (and failing) to organize a neighborhood potluck for Halloween night. Hence all the flier shit on my profile; I was posting here so I could copy-paste my WIP's to my friend for her approval; before I finally paid a place to print up the fliers so I could post them around my neighborhood. Again, for a potluck that never got off the ground, because I set up a server for the party planning on Discord, and the boomers in my neighborhood had no idea what Discord was; took it for some bizarrely region-specific scam; and threw my fliers, the ones i slaved over, in the trash.
Thankfully, a preexisting potluck was already underway and, by posting fliers, I met its members who warmly invited me to bring food and candy to the festivities; so, yeah: at least I didn't spend Halloween just
Weekend update 4-4-25
H'ooookay! The great news? I polished the first episode of 'Seizure' for another round of Beta reading; tightening up the lore; smoothing out the world building; cleaning up the linguistical discrepancies*; and setting up the umbrella plot, the heist. I also found some references to level up my cell-shading, my literacy in male and female facial structure, and I finally have some (tiny!) but, nevertheless, disposable income to invest in some environmental brushes; which means I'm finally going to start dabbling in background painting (the goal being, by next year, to render my own panoramic backgrounds from scratch).
The less-than-great news...?
1)I still haven't vacuumed my kitchen, or my rug.
2)I still haven't paid off my accountant.
3)I still haven't finished 'Double Indemnity' (one of my goals this weekend)
4)I still haven't prepped for the next set of Bardic Gestures (the last one was "disgust', this one is anger).
5)I haven't started cooking my pork roast.
