Yuna Kasai (remodel)

Yuna Kasai is one of my oldest OC's. She's an empath* in a fascist super city, who closets her supernatural abilities out of a utilitarian belief that empaths shouldn't exist except as resources to everyone around them, that their power isn't their's, basically. She also hides to avoid being taken to the capsule ranch, an annex for empaths consisting of tube-like compartments similar to the overnight hotels in current Japan. Empaths are insured welfare in this society provided they adhere to strict birth control; abortions are also complimentary. Before the start of the series, Yuna was the manager of an abortion clinic until she suffered a nervous break down; followed by accusations of drug use, after her landlord "finds" heroin in her posh two-story apartment, forfeiting her residence and her security deposit. All this after she leaked the clinic's "donations" of stem cells to corporate and government-funded research facilities; as well as black market cosmetic surgeons overseas. 

 Jobless, homeless, Yuna's forced to quarter with her estranged childhood friend, Tien Yusuke, a leg breaker for the Pleasure Arcade, a licensed brothel. Tien is a former detective and, like Yuna, an unregistered empath. Formerly the only adopted son of a notorious crime boss and the only survivor of their homicide. 

*An empath experiences and, in advance cases, can consciously emit pulses of emotions; a fraction capable of weaponizing their emotions.
