Ghillie Champion

 This is my OC for a "low" fantasy saga I'm drafting called 'Foresworn'. The Ghillie are the elusive and strange people of Midh (Meath), a swamp kingdom in the middle of Dara, the island where the Five Kingdoms reside. The Champions are martial artists who wear ivory masks that they claim are thousands of years old. The motifs for the masks are Celtic www.pinterest.com/pin/54521709…. A Champion's mask may only be removed by their spouse or to the one who bests them in combat. There are only two ways to redeem a champion that's been defaced: with a wedding or a funeral. The champions take their duels seriously, seeing deadly force as the ultimate sign of respect one warrior can give to another. A champion trains one acolyte and the acolyte either dies or inherits their master's mask. Every champion guarantees their successor will be greater than they are.
