I tried to simulate the fat spots that naturally occur when you make a stroke with a traditional pen, that innate bleed before the swipe; tapering the line and connecting it with another fat spot. Then, I used a soft round brush to gently fade the finer lines, particularly at their finest point, the middle. In retrospect, I could have flipped on my pressure sensitivity when I used a smaller brush size to firm up my lines and creases; but, all in all? I think the results were a marked improvement. I'm seriously considering just getting a pen brush that bleeds so I can understand the decisions being made by this artist, and many others.
@uochandayo is the original fan artist https://x.com/uochandayo/status/1331953567075237888. The character design is a human version of Basil of Baker St. from Disney's 'The Great Mouse Detective'; I own nothing. I'm putting a water mark on this just to try to prevent someone swiping their art. (Will it do jack shit? Maybe, I hope so, because I'm a big fan of their work.)
P.S. For every millennial furry looking at this picture, here's the song you're thinking of right now (don't even @ me).
