Carrie Lineart

 I learned SO much doing this fan art, mostly about how to make fabric look soaked. For elucidation, I defer to mikey mega mega's tutorial and speed draw on the subject: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FucCRs… www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR8tx2… One of the biggest hurdles was maintaining a clean silhouette while also adding so many ridges to the fabric (I spent more time on that dress than ANYTHING ELSE!); aaaand then it got instantly smothered in blood. 

 My favorite part, by far, was drawing her hair. Wet hair tends to rope, especially when its in motion, so it was a treat drawing all the crunchy lines. The original model's head was facing straight on, but I just had to tilt Carrie's head to give her more of a feeling like a zombie, mindless and unstoppable. In the film (spoilers!) she gets elected prom queen and has her Cinderella moment destroyed when she's doused in a bucket of pig's blood. The shock and rage, when everyone laughs at her, overloads her ability to reason. Her ID takes the wheel and runs over everything in sight.
'Carrie' is not a comedy.
