Description
The first go-around I started the timer before I even had the lineart traced for the study. This time I slapped on the lines, hit Play, and blazed through the flats and went straight to the shading. As before I only had 30 minutes, so it's missing most of the original's occlusion and interior shading; plus the blue background to inform the soft blue bounce light featured in the original.
Notes:
Never draw the whole eye socket! For the love of God, use a soft brush for the mass of the eyeball and a hard brush to shape the sphere; then, with pressure sensitivity switched on, lightly brush in the contours of the lower eyelid; paying close attention to the beautiful curve as the lid wraps around the sphere.
Remember! The width of the eyes, depending on the angle, will change, but their height never does.
For shading:
Use Multiply and Color Dodge.
Remember that the foot of the bridge of the nose extends almost to the tear duct; and the nostrils are always parallel to the inner corner of the eye. Always.
Lower the opacity on your hard brush and add some highlights to the eye. Make the highlight vary in brightness, and make them curve around the sphere of the eye to accent the form and make it look wet.
